The lights, on the other hand, are extremely bright. I have no idea what the other reviews are referring to. The little magnets on the back are weak, so don't expect to put these on a metal surface and have them stay in place unless they send out different quality/style switches because they can't even get the dimmable vs standard right. They just slid down the side of my fridge due to gravity. The small adhesive pads are extremely sticky and will adhere to almost any surface. It's a hook and loop velcro set for each. There's also a standard keyhole for mounting with nails or screws. br>br>If all you want is on and off, these will suffice; if you want dimming, you'll have to wait. I'm still on the lookout for a set of lights that can be dimmed. This will remain a one-star rating until I receive my actual order. To be honest, I give the lights a solid four stars.
One was affixed to the underside of the range by magnets. hood - This light is a LOT brighter than the range light that comes with the stove. I make sure to turn it off when I'm finished cooking, and the batteries have lasted a couple of weeks so far. One problem is that it loses brightness quickly if I forget to turn it off for an hour or so. I thought the batteries were dead, but after turning it off for several hours, it seemed to recover and shine brightly the next time I used it. I have no idea what's going on there. I now keep two in the kitchen just in case I forget to turn one off after I've used it. br>br>I keep two more in each of the deep, dark closet cubbies above the nightstands in the bedroom - Those shine like daylight inside the closet! I used Command strip velcro to attach them to the side of the closet wall so that I can move them if I change my mind. br>br>I keep one in the bathroom closet and one near the door so I can grab it and take it outside, sticking it to the side of my RV or other useful metal using the built-in magnets. br>br>These lights are absolutely stunning. I had previously purchased a completely different set from a large-scale retailer. I bought them at a big box store and was disappointed because they chewed up batteries (used three instead of two) and only provided half the light of this set.
Just in case the power goes out, I got these to stick on the wall. They're incredibly bright for their size, and each one comes with two Velcro sticky pads to secure it to the wall, as well as nail slots and magnets. It's kind of cool that there are three different ways to attach them to something. My entire set of six worked. There will be no issues.
They're bright and last a long time, making them a great little stocking stuffer for the "practical" members of the family during the holidays.
Before purchasing this six-pack, I purchased a single light. I liked the single (from a different vendor), so I assumed that this six-pack would be similar. Among the six - One never worked, another stopped working despite having brand new batteries, and the third is currently in doubt. So, for my money, I should have just stuck with the vendor I was familiar with. I don't use any adhesives on the working lights. They're used as simple flash lights in guest rooms when no one wants to wake up their children or spouses by turning on the overhead light. They're bright, but not as bright as an overhead light or lamp, so they won't wake up others who are sleeping.
I thought these light switches were a great idea. We live in Florida, and during hurricane season, we will be without power. I liked the adhesion design because it allowed me to put them in a place where my kids could get to them if they were needed. The included tape, on the other hand, was ineffective. After a day, the switch was turned off. I'll keep the magnet aspect and use it where I can because I like the concept, but be aware that the tape does not work. They're also incredibly bright, to the point where you can see spots if you get too close. So I'll look for places to put it, such as under the cabinets, where it won't be as bright.
space that can be seen PRESTO! I installed these just inside each dark cabinet. Now I don't have to rely on a dim flashlight to see what I've saved. My grandson had one that he had bought on the spur of the moment at a feed store. I bought a bunch of them after seeing how bright it was and how well it transformed my dark spaces. The space is well-lit and functional.
Purchase these at your own risk. For the past year and a half, I've been using these in a pool shed, only turning them on once in a while, only at night, and for brief periods of time (three or four minutes). They were initially successful! All six of the ones I installed have stopped working properly, and four of them have completely stopped working. (It's not because I didn't remember to change the batteries! What has happened is that the switches (on/off mechanisms) have gradually worn out. The fact that you have to repeatedly flip the switch back and forth to get the light to turn on is the first sign of failure. The light may come on brightly at times, and then dimly at other times. The light will eventually stop turning on entirely. Granted, the summers in Phoenix are scorching - They may have died from the heat. br>I attached them to the wood with screws, and I strategically placed two screws so that the magnets would be drawn to them. It took a LOT of time and effort to hang the six lights in that manner. It's extremely disappointing to see them all fail after all of their hard work. I'd stay away from this brand; I'll have to find something else.
