Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our products. Because the 24 and 45 watt universal power supplies no longer include an AC cord, dimming with an AC wall dimmer switch requires hardwiring the power supply rather than plugging it in. This is because National Electric Codes state that doing so is a fire hazard. If you're not dimming, one of our standard power supplies, such as the 8, 20, or 60 watts, will suffice.
Our AC Dimmable power supplies work with virtually any dimmer that is listed for LED use on the market. The Lutron Maestro Series is one of them. A "CL" dimmer is recommended because the trim adjustment setting aids in dimming range control. The letters "CL" are usually found in the model number of these dimmers.
I'm dimming these with a Levitron LED dimmer and LED MR16 bulbs, one per bulb because they're in recessed light fixtures. There's no noise or flickering.
The wattage of your lights must be known. The number of watts a driver can power is calculated by multiplying its volts by its amps. For instance, suppose the driver is 12 volts. as well as two amps It has the potential to produce 24 watts of power. Although you shouldn't take right to 100% capacity as much as 20 watts.

One of the few LED drivers that can be dimmed to meet the NEC's electrical inspection requirements. The supplied cord can be unscrewed, and the driver can be hardwired using 14-gauge wire. 2 romex. The connections were made using circuit board terminal blocks on both ends, which necessitated the use of a jeweler's screwdriver. When tightening the screws, make sure to hold the blocks in place so they don't torque away from the circuit board. br>br>The unit has a soft start and ramps up to full power in one second. Aside from that, unlike cheap switching power supplies, there is no 3-second warm-up period before they turn on at full brightness. What a lovely thing to do. I didn't have any issues with my Z-tools at all. Wave smart dimmer is a device that allows you to control the brightness of your lights I used a Linear aka Nortek aka GoControl model WD500Z5 zwave dimmer, which has burned in successfully for one day. Even when only pushing 10 watts, it gets quite warm. As hot as a McD's coffee cup. It's not hot enough to catch fire, but it's too hot to hold comfortably. If you're mounting something, keep that in mind. br>br>In addition, if you wired several LED homeruns instead of daisy chaining them, make sure you have wirenuts or a terminal block to connect them to the driver. Only 1 12 pair of wires can be run through it internally. Other connections are not possible due to a lack of internal space. br>br>I used 10 watts of LED tape under the cabinet. For my new kitchen cabinets, I'm going to use LED/meter strip lights. I'm using a Lutron Caseta dimmer to power the power supply. I'm blown away by how well the countertops are lit, but this power supply, combined with the dimmer, is a winning combination. Six lighting strips, ranging in length from 12 to 31 inches, are arranged in four branches and run from the power supply's output connector. I've worked with 14 gauge wire in the past. wall- To keep the voltage drop to a minimum, use rated speaker wire. The power supply is housed within one of the cabinets and only gets a little warm to the touch. I also appreciate Armacost's comprehensive product documentation, which includes important information on voltage drop and other technical considerations. It's something I'd buy again if the opportunity arose.

With a dimmer, it does not work. Old magnetic transformers were not working properly with the new bulbs and my Lutron QS dimmer after I replaced halogen bulbs in my kitchen pendant with LED bulbs. So I swapped out the old transformers (three of them, each feeding its own 40W bulb) for this new one, which has three 6W bulbs connected in series. br>There is absolutely no dimming. It's either on or off when the light is turned on. I experimented with various dimmers and modes (the Lutron Homeworks QS allows me to switch between LED leading edge control, Magnetic Low Voltage, and Incandescent - It's the same thing, but with different bulbs. The same bulbs work perfectly with two different types of dimming transformers and dimmers - As a result, it's clear that this transformer is to blame). So, if you're looking for a way to supply power without having to dim it, this is the device for you. It's fine; if you need to dim it, go ahead. Take a look somewhere else. Other vendors' transformers work fine; I'm not sure if mine is defective, and I don't have time to investigate. Changing vendors is all it takes.
