Questions & Answers

Do you think it will work with Culligan water softeners?

The package is suitable for any water softener that requires pellets to treat the brine water used to backwash the resin of the softener tank.

Do you think I could use this one inside the house to water flowers and plants?

A forty-pound bag is included in this sale. In my opinion, such a device should not be used indoors. Water softeners for the entire house are covered by this policy. You can ask for advice at a florist if you need softened water for your houseplants. The water for houseplants usually does not need to be softened. They contribute to the health of the body. You may need to let water sit for a few days to offgas chlorine before watering your plants if your tap water is too high in chlorine. You are asking if the water is safe for plants if it is applied to a whole house water softener. The answer is yes. I would imagine it is better than if sodium water softening crystals were

How long can I expect my water softener to last if I use salt?

We have one that uses salt and it makes the water taste salty. My parents had one that used salt and it shortened the life of their system. While salt is less expensive and easier to use, it is also more difficult.

Is this reducing chloride discharge in any way? How does the resin lose its effectiveness if fewer potassium ions bind to it?

Although I am not a chemist, I talked to a plumber installing a new water heater for me, and he made sure that it did not get into my drinking water. I was told that all it does is help remove some of the minerals that make hard water--based on what he told me. There is just an exchange of ions. I use this method to drain the septic and leach field of the water softened from my softener.

Upon receiving the box, the salt was in the form of potassium salt
5/5

Buying this at a Culligan dealer would have cost you $20 more, while you can get it for $20 less elsewhere. Works well in our system, but we would not purchase it again because of its cost.

You should only purchase this if you enjoy overspending

You can use the salt to make a great stew! Even so, you end up paying more than twice what you were supposed to You will be charged three times more if they are If you go to your nearby hardware store (Depot, etc. ), you can find the same item for a fraction of the cost.

I think the price of this salt was way too high. The next time I buy it I will not.

Despite the bag having a tear and some items missing, it seems the product is working fine so far
3/5

Shipped in a box that was ripped open with a large tear, the bag was ripped open with a large tear. As you can see, the box was smaller than the bag and there must have been some of the product The left over items weren't returned to the store because we needed them. It appears that less than 40 pounds of potassium chloride pellets were needed to handle the amount of water and salt.

Congratulations to you as well
5/5

It is a choice between sodium and potassium. The mineral base potassium is a healthier choice for water softener solutions containing chloride.

There seems to be a limited supply of the potassium version
5/5

A reason seems to have prevented the product from being available. The current price of oil is extremely high.
