Questions & Answers

According to one review, using the included stopper will result in a permanent rust ring. Is it possible to confirm this? That's a lot to be concerned about. ?

Hello, I believe I've only used the stopper a couple of times since getting my sink, and neither time did I notice any rust. The only time I had to deal with rust was when I was using an SOS pad to clean a pan. I found a small piece of metal under one of the feet of the sink rack. I used a dab of Barkeepers Helper to clean the tiny tiny spot of rust. Stainless steel is very resilient, and if you care for it properly, it will look good and won't rust. That stuff works for me. Also, avoid using egg white on stainless steel. On a cooktop, it doesn't matter because the heat will fix it, but I dropped a dime-sized spot on my sink. I didn't realize it was the egg white stain until I tried to clean it after breakfast, and after I fixed the rust stain with Barkeepers Helper, I figured I'd try it on the egg white stain as well. It has taken away the spot, much to my surprise and delight! Be careful how much and how hard you rub; if you're not gentle, you'll leave a telltale mark where you've been working. Simply dampen a wet micro cloth and apply a small amount of water and BH to the affected area. After that, rinse off the area you're concentrating on, then rinse out the cloth and wipe down the entire area. You can also use this method to remove water spots. I live in an area with extremely hard water, and I regularly get drips down the front of the sink and on my stainless-steel refrigerator. Stainless steel is a lovely material, but it requires some maintenance. I hope I didn't bore you with too much information, but I want my new kitchen to look the same as it did when it was installed a year and a half ago, and it does.

According to the contractor, there is no room for disposal due to the sink's depth and the water line's low location. Is this a problem that anyone has dealt with?

Also, keep in mind that you'll have to remove a lot of the cabinet to connect the waste and water lines. Once you've installed the countertops, it'll be a little tricky to connect the faucet because you won't be able to reach up there if you didn't remove a lot of the wood. to get all the way up there to turn on the faucet and connect to the water supply It may be dependent on the cabinet, so be cautious, but I think the sink is the best I've ever seen, and I'm a master plumber.

Is this sink compatible with laminate countertops?

I'm going to have to disagree with Bic's response - This sink is mounted directly on the counter. When this sink is installed correctly, there are no exposed counter edges. P's response is correct, and I agree. Gifford, I don't see why this sink couldn't be used with a laminate countertop. I also agree that you should seek advice from the countertop vendor. It's a fantastic sink, but watch out for scratches from belt buckles rubbing up against the front! I had never considered it before. My large, deep, and lovely stainless sink is still my favorite!

Is it possible to install this sink under the counter?

Yes. When we remodeled our kitchens, we had them undermounted.

Beautiful, durable, and practical
5/5

When we remodeled our kitchen last year, we bought this sink. It's precisely what we needed. It is durable and does not easily dent. I really like the bottom-of-the-sink grates. They keep my pots and pans off the bottom, preventing them from smelling and scratching the surface. We installed a deeper drain system with a removable cup, which I like because it collects all of the debris and food from the sink when it is drained. br>br>The large side of the sink has enough room for a standard-size cookie sheet. It has a 19" wide interior and a 16" deep interior. The smaller side can accommodate larger stock pots up to 12 inches in diameter. With a depth of 16" and a height of 5", this is a great gift idea. The inside sink has a 10" height. br>br>I had a hard time deciding whether or not it was acceptable to order a sink from Amazon without first seeing it. As a result, I created a short video to show you more about it because I adore it! I hope this helps you make a better decision than I did!.

Both are of excellent quality, and the grid protectors in particular appear to be identical
4/5

If you're wondering what makes the Zuhne Prato 33 different from the Kraus KHF200- I bought both just to see for myself, at the age of 33. They appeared to me to be identical; both are of excellent quality, and the grid protectors have the same finish and pattern. They appear to be manufactured by the same factory, with minor branding and other distinguishing features. For a variety of reasons, I decided to keep the Zuhne. 1) Despite the fact that they are both 16 gauge commercial grade, the Zuhne is significantly heavier due to the thicker insulation. This is significant because a large sink tends to be noisier, and I believe the insulation helps to reduce noise. 2) The Zuhne strainer assembly is entirely made of metal (as was mine), whereas the Kraus is partially made of plastic, which, in my experience, fails more quickly. Unfortunately, the drain pipe coming out of the wall was too low and too short to accommodate the very nice deep basket, so I had to install a different basket assembly. Remember that this sink is 10 inches deep, so make sure there is enough room for the trap to connect to the drain pipe. 3) Zuhne is about $100 less. The only reason for a four-star rating is that Zuhne is a better value for money. I can't say anything more about Kraus' because I gave it to Zuhne instead.

Steel that is not "stainless
3/5

" The sink is lovely and comes with a lot of nice extras (which is why I gave it two stars instead of one), but I'm having trouble with the finish. Although stainless steel is supposed to be "stainless," there are tiny rust spots all over the bottom of this sink where water sits for longer periods of time, and I've never had to dry out a stainless steel sink at the end of each day to keep it from rusting. I scrubbed and scrubbed, but only a portion of the rust came off. I just called Kraus to see what they can do about it because I don't want to replace it now that it's been installed beneath the new countertops.

Excellent Sink - However, BEWARE OF COUNTERTOP TEMPLATING! The sink is fantastic
4/5

The builder was blown away. We purchased two, one for our kitchen and the other for a studio. I really like the sink. However, two countertops from two different companies cut the counter top according to the template, leaving approx. Around the sides and back, 3/8" of stainless steel is exposed. I despise it, I despise it, I despise it, and I despi On the sides and back, the countertop should hang slightly over the stainless to allow water and debris to flow directly into the sink rather than getting stuck on the exposed stainless ridge. It wasn't until both of them were finished that I noticed it. Make sure your countertop is cut to overlap the stainless and tell them to ignore the template! This exposed portion of stainless collects water, dirt, and other contaminants. Despite the fact that measurements were taken on the spot-- When it came to the sink area, the designer still used the Kraus template, and I didn't know any better when I gave my approval. Another cabinet/countertop installer pointed it out as a mistake, which I agreed with and had already noticed, but it was too late because both had already been approved and installed. As a result, this is the only drawback.

The sink is lovely
5/5

outstanding workmanship The sink is lovely. outstanding workmanship; It's simple to set up and keep up with. It was, in our opinion, a good and sincere improvement. All of the work was done by us, including the cherry and oak counter tops and the refinishing of the kitchen cabinets, which included the creation and painting of fifteen new doors. We had to start all over again. br> We had to plumb to accommodate the lower level of the disposal outflow, but we did it ourselves as well. For people in their late seventies, this is quite impressive.

The sink is lovely
4/5

On this one, I'm updating the grade. After calling the company about the rust spots, they suggested using Bar Keepers Friend to clean my sink. I ordered it and it worked perfectly! I'm in love with my sink once more. The only thing I wish was different about the sink is the slant; water and food particles need to be sprayed down frequently because the bottom of the sink is flat, and things get caught in the corners. However, I would buy this sink again because it is beautiful, and now that I know how to care for it, I know we will enjoy it for years to come. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: When I contacted the company, they assured me that the problem was not caused by rust. They recommended that I buy Bar Keepers Friend cleaner liquid, which I did and will update my review once I try it. br>br>Let me begin by saying that this is a stunning sink that serves as the focal point of my kitchen. We debated whether stainless steel or ceramic/porcelain farm sinks would be better for my new kitchen. We chose stainless steel because it was easier to maintain and less likely to scratch or chip. We had this sink installed under mount in our granite, but after only a month of regular use, small rust spots have appeared. We are not hard on this sink, and it is always used with the provided steel grate in place, with the grate being removed only to clean it. It is cleaned with stainless steel cleaner on a daily and weekly basis, just like the rest of our house appliances. We used stainless steel cleaner on the outside of the apron and dawn dish soap on the inside of the sink. I'm disappointed to see small rust spots, and I'm not sure how to replace a sink that's mounted on the wall like ours is. I'll contact the company to see what they suggest for resolving this, but I'm extremely disappointed.
