This does not have any threading. It attaches to the base of the air gap.
In a way, yes. This item has a slightly dull brushed nickel finish. It wasn't quite the right match for my gleaming stainless steel faucet; However, it'll suffice.
An air gap (as well as a cover like this) is only required for a dishwasher.

For the time being, at least. On the outside, it's lovely, with a nice exterior finish, and I like how it fits over the bottom plastic. BUT. I was concerned when I noticed that the copper interior was not only tarnished but also corroded. I contacted the company to inquire if this is a problem because I am concerned about how long it will last, but my concerns were dismissed despite my offering to email a photo for them to examine. They didn't even give it a second glance. I was treated in a rude and dismissive manner. I didn't have a good customer service experience, and I'm not sure how well this will hold up, but it does look lovely from the outside right now.
This was purchased to complement a new stainless steel sink that I had purchased. It looks great and is made of metal, so it is a high-quality item that will not break like plastic. It is, of course, more costly than the plastic versions. br>br>Are you telling the truth? Most people probably won't need it because, to be honest, the painted plastic ones I've seen look pretty good and are also lighter. I've bought painted ones that looked like metal at first glance and completely fooled me. In addition, I have never broken an air gap cap in my life. So, in retrospect, I'm not convinced that the higher cost was necessary. It's not like I'm fondling the air gap cap every time I pass by my sink. br>br>But, if you have a nice stainless steel sink, this really does go well with it, and if you want to go like a pro, this is one of those nice touches that adds a little refinement.
This is an actual metal unit with a beautiful long-lasting real finish, not the cheap plastic units you buy at Home Depot that look terrible after a year. I had to bring my wife over to look at the old garbage and the new Westbrass unit when I got it. Love it!.
It's very nice! I've purchased items that were advertised as having a brushed nickel finish, only to discover that they were simply plastic with a dull metal coating that was already peeling, or, worse, that they were actually a grey-colored plastic. ish enamel that appears to be brushed nickel only when you're drunk, but looks more like a commercial meat slicer when you're not. br>That was a long introduction to say that I did better than I anticipated with this. The cap is made of metal, appears to be quite sturdy, and has a lovely brushed nickel finish. Plus, it spruces up the back of my stainless steel kitchen sink—perhaps more than the sink deserves, given that the cap is now its only appealing feature. 👍🏼.
It fits snugly over our air gap, unlike our previous cover, which was a little too loose. I had to sand down the plastic air gap edges if I wasn't going to force it on. br>br>At first, I tried putting it on - No way, it's not possible. Then I unscrewed the top of the air gap and pushed it into the cover (to avoid denting the cover by pounding it over the air gap), but I went too far, and the threads didn't catch back onto the lower part of the air gap. Then I had to pull it out a little more until the threads were caught. Basically, it was absurdly tight for our existing air gap - It got to the point where I thought I'd have to return it. br>br>However, it looks great now, and I'm not sure how I'll get it off to install a new sink now that I've put it on. Oops.
It's a match made in heaven. Even though it appears to be shiny in the photo, it is actually matte. The bottom lip is also nice because it completely closes the air gap.
Shop around for the best deal; some items are incredibly expensive!.
It's a little pricey, but it's a lot nicer than the previous plastic airgap covers I've had. This is just the cover; the air gap assembly isn't included. Advantages: br>br>
- It has the feel of solid metal (brass) material. br>- The cap fits flush against the countertop surface and covers the entire air gap body. br>- The color and sheen of satin nickel are both very attractive.
