The antimicrobial properties of the mats are the first. Because the majority of odors in restrooms are caused by bacteria growth, these mats kill the bacteria and prevent it from growing. A standard mat - While it may help to reduce slippage, it will actually encourage bacteria growth and, as a result, odors. Second, due to the fibers and backing materials used, these urinal mats dry quickly, allowing any urine splash to dry naturally. The odor will be reduced as a result of the quick drying time. As a result, these mats aid in the reduction or elimination of odors. They aren't scented, however. Scents can cover or mask odors, but these will simply eliminate them. So, if you want a specific fresh smell (as opposed to no smell), you should use air fresheners or scented urinal screens (which we also sell) in the scented urinals.
