Selected User Reviews For American Standard 047007-0070A Spud, 2.30 in wide x 2.95 in tall x 4 in deep
On two American Standard urinals (see photos), it worked perfectly on the old, salt-encrusted, leaking spuds. br>br>The most difficult part of the job was removing the old ones safely and without breaking the porcelain. Hint: I had to saw and dig out the old, hardened rubber gasket. It was a breeze to set up the new one. I didn't have a spud wrench, so I held the inside with the back end of a tool while tightening it. Because I made sure the porcelain was dry and the rubber gasket engaged a good tight seal, I didn't need to use the spud wrench to tighten it up. The thread worked perfectly with a new plastic trap and slip nut, and it was simple to install. There were no leaks.
Although it isn't stated in the item description, it is a 1-star item. 1/2 by 1- 1/2.
THE MEASUREMENTS ARE INACCURATE. I am unable to play Amazon games due to a lack of time. When Amazon couldn't properly list the items, they actually demanded that I pay return shipping. Spend your time and money elsewhere instead of being frustrated.
Wrot brass, good gasket, and item arrived in a heavy plastic packaging bag, exactly as pictured. After installation, none of the four spuds slipped, moved, or caused any issues with the toilet. br>Because of this, as well as the excellent pricing, the fact that it is made in the United States, and the fact that it ships quickly, I will purchase it again if necessary.
Don't waste time dealing with rusted washers and old hard rubber; just use these to get a quick seal and save time.
The product fit perfectly, was simple to install, and cost a quarter of what my local hardware store would have charged. I couldn't be happier!.
Don't force something to fit if it doesn't. shave it. I had to shave it with a drill bit (I didn't have a file), scraping the edges just enough to slide snuggly(is that a word?) into the porcelain, and then tighten it. With a minor change, it's very nice. When I replace new flushometers, I make sure to replace ALL spuds as well.
In an American Standard toilet, this is the material that is used. It really works. I initially purchased just the rubber spud bushing, but it was too tight, so I purchased the entire spud.
