The 4000 design is based on an older discontinued faucet, which is the same as the 4000. I think it may be a good idea. Do A replacement of the faucet is another option. A few days ago, I bought one and may buy another to see if it fits.

This item made it very easy for me to fix my Mo*n kitchen faucet. A set of channel lock pliers and an Allen key were all I needed. The whole process took no more than five minutes. However, the faucet continued to leak a little after installing the new item. The previous gasket (the blue Mickey Mouse thing in the picture) had separated from the existing valve. If disassembled again, I discovered it was still in the valve. What a mistake! Reassembled all parts and it worked like new. I pulled out the old valve, checked that the gasket was still attached, and reassembled everything. Check to see if you left the old gasket behind if you have a leak.
The one part I used to repair my leaky faucet, which was leaking slowly out the handle was the only part I needed. One of the previous reviews mentioned that this part fit perfectly and worked well in place of an N35DW in my Glacier Bay faucet, but the two small stubs on the bottom needed to be trimmed a bit to allow them to seat properly. A utility knife was all I needed to cut them narrower, taking care not to damage the gasket in the process.
