Selected User Reviews For KOHLER K-2209-47 Caxton Undercounter Bathroom Sink, Almond
This sink may be fine if you have a very narrow or shallow cabinet, but if you have a normal-sized cabinet, I would recommend the larger Caxton sink. I debated whether to purchase this Caxton model or the larger one, but ultimately chose the smaller one. I thought having a little more counter space would be nice, and after looking at the measurements, I decided that the smaller sink would be plenty big enough for brushing my teeth and washing my hands. I'm sorry for what I did. This sink appears to be cramped and small. Our vanity is 30 inches wide, with a 22-inch cabinet next to it, making the countertop 52 inches wide, and this sink appears and feels very small. If you can't fit a larger sink, this is the size to get; however, if you're on the fence and the larger one would fit, I believe most people would prefer the larger one.
I purchased this Kohler 2209 as part of a granite countertop replacement project in my home, and I like the undermount style because it makes it easier to clean the countertops without a sink lip in the way. The 2209 is a well-known model with a long history. My granite installer didn't need a template because he was already cutting for the Kohler 2209, which is a well-known standard bathroom sink replacement. br>br>I ordered the K- version. 2209- The overflow hole is included in 0). br>br>The 2209 has a slightly smaller interior than the 2210 (which I also ordered for the master bath). When used to replace an over-sized sink on a granite countertop, however, the- When compared to a standard sink, the 2209 appears to be significantly larger and deeper. It fits well into the bathroom cabinetry and has no problems with the drain system because it's essentially a standard replacement. If you're thinking about getting the slightly larger 2210 sink, you'll want to consider how it'll fit in the cabinet. br>br>In terms of appearance, my next-door neighbor had his countertops installed as well, but he chose rectangular Kohler sinks. He despises the appearance, as does his family. The oval shape of this sink, in comparison, is far more appealing to the eye and appears far more natural, as water naturally takes on a circular rather than a square shape. An oval shape is far superior to a square or rectangular shape. br>br>Quality br>br>Quality br>br>Quality br> I couldn't have asked for more in terms of wisdom. The sink is attractive, functional, and well-fitting; it is definitely a 5-star product. If you're looking for a new sink, this is a great option. scrubbing the counters in the bathroom.
I ordered ten of these for a project, and while they look nice, there is a major flaw once they are installed. There is an odd angle where the drain and the sink come together when there is running water after the water has been turned off. The water is stuck in a 1/8th' circle around the drain and will not drain. It appears that the drain is not working. The faucet isn't working, but the sink's angle is allowing the water to sit.
I was relieved to learn that these two sinks could be delivered in a matter of days, and they did so a few days ahead of schedule. I was also relieved to discover that online reports claiming that the sinks frequently arrive broken did not apply to me. However, I ordered sinks that were the same length and width as my old oval sinks. Each dimension of the sinks I received is approximately 1 inch shorter. The job isn't finished yet, but the contractor who is building my new counter asked if I was sure I wanted to build a counter for these tiny sinks. I went ahead and ordered the smaller sinks because I believe they will be adequate, but I would have preferred sinks that were the same size as the old ones I measured when placing my order.
I was planning on installing a second Kohler Caxton. On the other hand, I could hear pieces rolling around during delivery. There was no packing around the sink at all. It was crammed into a flimsy box within another flimsy box. It had to have been squished quite a bit. The packing done by Amazon is inconsistent.
I'm a huge fan of these sinks. The old, chipped moulded sink/countertop unit was replaced with quartz and these undermount sinks as part of a master bath remodel. It's the ideal size for shampooing my hair.
Item was designed to work with a pre-existing system. I purchased a cut granite top from a local vendor. I got it for a great price on Marketplace, and the only issue I had was that the lip that attaches to the underside of the vanity top wasn't quite flat, but that didn't bother me. I also purchased epoxy clips from Amazon and used silicone adhesive to secure the sink, which worked flawlessly. A beautiful, high-quality name-brand sink for a low price- What is there not to like about this?.
UPDATE: The sink appears to be in good condition, and the blemishes I mentioned during the unboxing inspection are not visible during normal use. br>br>I had originally ordered a beautifully made Toto sink, but it was too big and a smaller one wasn't available, so I settled for the Kohler Caxton. I noticed what I could only describe as a pock-marked bowl right away. Countless blemishes beneath the surface, which I believe were caused by tiny air bubbles rising to the surface while the sink was being fired. The sink was smooth, but in my lighting, the flaws were visible. I called Kohler to see if this was normal for their product, and they said it was abnormal and shouldn't have passed inspection, so I exchanged it for another of the same type. The markings on the new one were exactly the same. br>br>Since it's a sink, all I ask is that it's properly shaped and that the bowl is free of visual flaws. I'm not an expert on sinks, so I'm not sure how difficult it is to achieve a flawless appearance, but Toto got it right. br>br>Amazon was fantastic in terms of free exchanges, quick refunds, and quick deliveries.
