The surface is extremely smooth, and none of the ones I've purchased have any sharp edges.
It has the appearance of being brushed nickel. It's more gleaming than matte, in my opinion. The one I used resembled a satin nickel shower trim kit in appearance.
I have my doubts because I ordered three different sizes, all of which are exactly as advertised.
Although it flexes, it's best to install it on the back wall of a shower rather than in the center.

It's been fantastic. When we redid the shower, we hired a professional to install it. It's not at all sharp to the touch, and I'm confident that I could stand on it without fear. The basket, which collects hair and other debris, works so well that we have to empty it every week or two weeks or the water will back up. The reason for the missing star is that in order to empty the trap, you must cut or pull the hair out, as there is a nice bar (for grabbing the basket) around which the hair gets wrapped.
The installation was flawless, and the product was a fraction of the cost of others I'd considered. For a single continuous slope on a shower floor, this is a cost-effective option.

I purchased four of them (each of a different size) for use in four different bathrooms. I almost forgot to mention that the metal S is of very high quality.

Hello, I'm a big fan of your linear drain because it's so elegant. However, I bought this item under the impression that the drain cover was made of stainless steel. I'm about to install the drain when I notice that the drain cover is white, which clashes with my faucets, tiles, and other accessories. Because it was installed by a professional, I cannot give it an easy rating. I really like that the drain isn't in the middle of the shower, and my installer did a great job with the slope.
My contractor said it was well-made and simple to put together. My new shower has a great look to it. The hair trap does its job well and is simple to clean. I placed another order for our other shower.
