I didn't measure them, but they're in the neighborhood of 8".
Vinyl siding can be used to mount these shutter 'S' holders.
Two pairs are included, one for each window shutter. The screws, I believe, are two inches long.
It's either a Tapcon (which is easier to install because the threads are made for masonry hardness) or drilling an oversized hole for a piece of dowel with a concrete bit, then screwing the S holder to the dowel.

It worked even though I didn't attach them to the house. First and foremost, let me state that I did not want to drill another hole in my cement block house after we had already installed wooden shutters on all of the windows. That was a complete nightmare in and of itself. Since our shutters are only for decoration, I was hoping to avoid drilling and simply attach the holdbacks to the shutters. I used shorter black roof screws and predrilled small holes in each shutter's corner. It turned out pretty well, in my opinion.
Amazing! Also, the seller is a pleasure to work with. This product adds a lot of curb appeal, and I would strongly advise you to buy it instead of others. I made the mistake of buying from a different seller and ended up with plastic shutter dogs! Thank you very much. This item is both iron and attractive (FYI- If you don't like the gleam of the metal, use a matte black paint to cover it.
They dress them up nicely with just the right amount of styling. The only thing that bothered me were the screws that came with them. The screws were about 3 inches long, far longer than I required for my shutter. Instead, I used some simple black wood screws, and everything worked out fine.
If you don't plan on replacing them in two years, don't buy them. 3 years! They looked great at first (I installed them in 2018), but after a year, they started to rust. After a few years, they were all rusted out and the paint was peeling off. Before painting the metal surfaces at the factory, I believe they did not properly clean or prepare them. For each of them, I purchased aluminum replacements.
Finally got these up in the fall, and noticed some rust on the bolt heads while hanging Christmas decor. br>Sanding and painting will have to wait until spring. br>br>I'm disappointed that I already have to perform a'repair. '.
Installing it was a breeze. A before and after photo has been added.
The shutter dogs were simple to install and worked perfectly. Because the screws had rusted from turning them, I had to repaint them with black enamel paint.
We noticed two shutter holders were missing when we bought our current home. These two are made for each other. I would strongly suggest it.
