When I get around to it, I'm going to hang these on my shutters. They'll be the perfect finishing touch for the house, which is nearly complete. I used to have these in my old house, and they got a lot of attention. They have faded slightly in the hot Louisiana sun over the last 9 years, but they are still in good condition. I imagine they could be taken down and sprayed with plastic paint to make them look brand new if necessary. (However, that is something that the new owners can do. ) 😉).

The S hooks, on the other hand, were not used because we did not believe they were required. My only criticism is that the hinges appear to be made of plastic rather than wrought iron. Use some black hammered rustoleum sray paint from Lowes or Home Depot to easily fix this. Then, in my opinion, they will turn out fantastically and look twice as good. I also used a small piece of cardboard to temporarily hold the screws in place so I could spray paint the screw heads.

Everything was exactly as described. I followed other people's advice and used black hammertone paint to paint them! It came out beautifully.

We didn't use the letter s. Rather than hooks, the hinges have a more straightforward appearance.

This is a complete waste of time. Plastic that is too thin appears to be flimsy.
