I'm not sure, but I bought them, spray painted them white, and glued them on the same way you did, and no one can tell the difference. As a result, what you're attempting to do should be successful.

The hinges aren't functional. They are purely decorative, made of plastic, and are not intended to be used. movable. They have a realistic appearance and add a lot to the shutters' appearance.

Hint. Before you use them, give them a coat of Rustoleum hammered paint to make them look like metal hinges.
It was crucial to me that the shutters we made and installed on the house resembled the originals as much as possible. In the event of a storm, shutters were supposed to keep the house safe. So they need to be the right size (would they cover your window if they closed? ), they should be equipped with hinges and hardware to keep the shutters open. This hardware was perfect for the job and didn't weigh as much as the real deal. However, I followed other reviewers' advice and sprayed them with Rust-Oleum hammered spray paint. I went with a hammered black finish. The hammered silver and grey paints were on hand, but they didn't look quite right. It appears to be made of wrought iron because of the black. I'd give these a ten out of ten recommendation.

They appeared to be satisfactory, but there was a flaw. This hardware was exactly what I needed to complete the look.
These hinges were recently installed, and I am very pleased with them. Especially given the price, which was three times that of Lowe's. They're made of synthetic materials. I'm not sure how well they'll hold up, but I'm willing to take a chance for the price. They appear to be in good condition. The color is a soft matte black. I installed them on dark brown shutters, so the effect is subtle, but I think it adds a little "extra" to my home. The installation will necessitate the use of a drill and a screwdriver. br>I would buy them again; in fact, after my first installation, I bought another set so that each shutter could have three hinges. )br>br>I also bought magnetic hinges for my garage door from Amazon. Love.
The nice $$$ shutter dogs on our craftsman shutters rusted right through at our previous house. Close inspection reveals that they are plastic, but they look fantastic from a distance! I really like how the straps have a piece that wraps around the shutter's side. I didn't like that the S hooks didn't have a hidden screw hole, so hubby inserted the screw into the bottom of the guide piece. The extra screw is no longer visible from the front, and it still works perfectly; I would highly recommend it.
They are simple to install with shutters laying across a table, but predrilling is required. With the chocolate brown shutters, I sprayed mine with a hammered metal black paint, but they're a little too dark. When they catch the light in the sun, however, they look stunning! It's the finished look that I like.
These were added to the cottage's side shutters, which had been there for about a year and a half. They are the perfect finishing touch. They're made of vinyl, but you'd never guess it from afar. The fact that none of the pieces are predrilled is my only gripe. I drilled them and then simply inserted the screws into the vinyl shutters without drilling them. You won't be disappointed with these; they aren't a deal breaker, but they would have saved you some time.
