Questions & Answers

What is the compatibility of this product with HD ?

Straps of this type are suitable for motorcycles under 1,000 pounds of weight because they have a Working Load Limit of 1,000 lbs. To tie down a large motorcycle, we'd recommend using four straps in total In front, there are two and in back, there are two. For stability on the front wheel, we also recommend using a wheel chock (sold separately).

There is one of these in my possession. There was a problem with the caribeaner. If this needs to be replaced, how can I get it done?

We ask that you contact us through Amazon if you've had your hook break or bend. A replacement strap can either be provided or replaced in its entirety.

In order to tie down a KLR 250 to a hitch mounted rack, what number of straps will I need?

There is no need for more than two. A while back I had an XL 350 with a hitch mounted rack, and I wished there were straps like these

I found this version to be far less useful than the older one
3/5

I bought this kind of strap over two years ago and still have those I bought then. I have a transport company and I still use those straps. A few years ago, they discontinued these products and The quality is nowhere near as heavy duty as the old ones. Since these new ones came, three of them let go and tipped a bike. The straps feel cheap now, and perform as well as a cheap strap would.

I'd rate the quality as good, not great, because it is very cheaply made with dangerously sharp edges
3/5

The second or third time I used it, one of the carabiners bent. Although they are locked before any pressure is applied, I'm not sure how that would work. The latch turned out to be broken, but it could still be used after it was straightened out. Besides being extremely sharp, the latching portion of the carabiner has a lot of bends. An easy way to sever a finger is to slice it open. After I had previously bought this set, I used a Dremel tool to dull the edges. Thus, I do not have to worry if I get The decision was made to return them and take a different I have updated There was an issue with one of the ratchets They were both thrown away by me. It was less than a year since I owned them. It is likely that they have been used eight or nine I spent my money for nothing!.

Although carabiner hooks seemed like a great idea, they won't open wide enough to attach to the rails of my trailer! It's pretty cool to have these straps as a whole
4/5

Considering that they are thick and wide, I don't think they could collapse under their own weight. Having those small carabiner hooks on the ends makes sense to me, as does the smooth operation of the ratchets. I found that they did not work for me in practice. Three of my motorcycles are Kendon three rail trailers, and I own three motorcycles. On the Kendon trailer, the frame rails are attached to the hitch at the front thereby eliminating the need to tie down the hitch. Below are some points that need to be addressed. In addition to these rails, there are others that are welded on with a slightly smaller diameter which can This is because the carabiner hooks on these straps do not open wide enough to go around the It is at the rear where more classic loops are welded, and here the trailer can easily be attached to the carabiners. In other words, if the loop or attachment point is not too thick, you should be OK if you attach to it. I had a problem hooking the carabiner to a frame rail, so if you're planning to do the same, you might encounter a problem. If you are interested in using the tool, you can do so It is easy to loop the strap around the trailer frame rails using the tie feature. I did it! It's not like you have a soft spot in your heart A tie is a safe, secure way to secure your motorcycle on the other end. Thus, either you have to attach the carabiners directly to your motorcycle or you have to use a soft clip to do it Strap with a loop! Second, I would like to bring up a concern. Two other things I noticed about these straps were the ends of the springs - the ends of the springs do not have any sharp corners In addition to 'hooking' the opposite end, loaded carabiners are designed to hook the other end of the carabiner as well. As a result, when the carabiner is closed, the two ends hook and prevent them from pulling apart. Thank you, that's fine. There is, however, a sharp edge at the ends of these carabiners where this machining is executed. There are no sharp edges on carabiners used by rock climbers. Their ends are polished after machining, so there are no If you are using heavy ropes, you don't want your equipment's sharp edges to cut through them. There are for this strap, however, a lot of sharp edges machined into the aluminum. You might want to use a soft-switching program While you feed the strap into the opening of the carabiner by wrapping it around the fork legs or handlebars of your bike, care must be taken not to slice the strap. Last but not least, and this is a criticism of all ratchet straps that have a soft-rubber base This feature ties the look together. I couldn't use them on the rear of my motorcycles since they didn't go short enough! It is imperative that I use short straps at the back of my trailer to fully secure my bikes. A D-ring can be found on these straps At least several feet from the end of the strap, a ring is stitched into the strap. In the d-position, there is too much distance between the a-position and the b-position It has a metal ring and a strap end. Use the softdrive even if you don't have a computer It has the carabiner hook on the d-style so that you can connect it to the carabiner Looping yourself around your attachment point with a strap that is 2 feet long will ensure that the whole strap has been well over two feet long. The set isn't going to work for you if you need a really short strap, as in to go from a footpeg to a loop in the middle of your trailer. As I said, that's a common problem with ratchet straps these days, since almost all of them come with a soft-side ratchet These ties feature a tie feature like these. Ultimately, the only quality issue I encountered was in the machined ends of the carabiners where there are sharp edges. I have removed a star because of this. The rest of the time they're excellent. Nevertheless, they are flawed in some ways, resulting in them being unfit for purpose My needs are met by this product. The straps will likely make sense if you are hauling bikes or ATVs and need a longer strap, and if there are attachment points on your vehicle or trailer that can pass through the opening of a carabiner.

This is an American product of high quality
5/5

Ratchet tie down straps made in the USA that are top quality and heavy-duty. Getting one of these is more expensive, but once you have one you will appreciate why. Several cheaper ratchet tie down straps work great for light loads, but I needed something heavier and stronger for my $16,000 John Deere mower haul. Having shorter straps makes tying up a lot easier, and the carabiner hooks make life even easier. If you pair this strap with 1/2" steel DRing tie down anchors, you will have a hefty holding force! My recommendation is to buy these PowerTye straps again and I would be willing to do so. If you order the set that includes a storage bag, you will receive the little bag as well. This is a great tool!.

The orange ones I had were cheap and I should have kept them! The stitching on these straps is weak! I'd used the harbor freight straps to transport my motorcycles in an enclosed trailer on several trips
3/5

Then I bought two pairs of these since I had bought a show bike for $100k and I thought it would be a good idea to purchase good ones. The first powertye I had on the Harley fell on the show bike while I was heading to Daytona bike week, but the harbor freight held together just fine. I have been hauling the bikes back and the second powertye has already occurred. Due to the lack of trust i have in these straps, I added extra off brands. My cost to repair the damage caused by these straps is going to reach the thousands, and no, they are not Traveling for work all over the world, I never had a strap break on me before these, I always apply the straps It doesn't guarantee they'll be better straps just because they're more expensive or wider. There's no point in making this complaint to the company, since they're likely to just ignore it or blame me. So the best I can do is warn potential customers that the stitching is weak. I am very disappointed with this!.

I have used no other tie downs that have been this secure! They use hooks that prevent the straps from moving because of the positioning of the straps on the PowerTye buckles
5/5

Contrary to plain hook ends, these will not fall off of the place you hook them into if for some reason they loosen up. The hooked ends of other tie downs kept slipping off the metal stake pockets I hooked them into on my light trailer because it seems to have enough flex. Hooks on these straps lock on so that the strap won't come off even if it gets slack. If I were to add some ring tie down mounts, it would be even better
I feel much safer locking my motorcycle to the trailer using these tie downs!.

This is a great quality shirt
5/5

Make a modification to the proposal. The quality of these products is excellent, and they are It would be a good idea to recommend one modification to the factory. To make it easy for the loop to work with the carabiner, you have gathered it at the soft, tight end. That makes sense to me. Adding the thick end to the loop has resulted in a thicker loop. Due to the thickening of the strap, it cannot fit through narrow holes on a dirtbike handlebar. The cable is between the bar and the cable. There is a KTM and a Kawasaki in my garage. I can't use the integrated soft ties on either bike since the loop doesn't fit through the holes. Now I have to use a separate one rather than the integrated soft ties. We achieved our purpose by defeating it. I am incredibly pleased with the other aspects of the project. It is easy to fix by not gathering the ends of the loop.
