The strap is fantastic. Although both ends have hooks, the ratchet is closer to one end than the other. The auto-rewind feature is a nice feature. I'd buy it again because it's an excellent tool.
The pin would have to be removed from the strap. The pin cannot be removed; however, there is a hole on the frame where it can be bolted down.
5 inches. I hope that helps, because these items are fantastic!
Sorry, but I don't know; all I know is that these are the best tie downs I've ever used. Because I can only use one hand, these tie downs are ideal for me.

The honeymoon, on the other hand, has come to an end. I purchased an initial set and was so impressed that I went out and purchased several more to convert my entire tie down solution to secure four ATVs on a flat bed trailer. At first, I liked them because they kept the extra strap material from flailing around and made it easy to store without creating a tangled mess. Then. After about two months, they began to fail in a systematic manner. Three different straps in the webbing have frayed and pulled apart. Two of them are unable to retract or will become stuck in the locked position and refuse to release their grip. Keep in mind that I'm hauling ATVs, not anything that isn't intended to be hauled. I believe that the majority of positive reviews are from people who were initially enamored with them, as I was, but who have not returned to provide a long-term review. I should've known better than to trust the straps. Old-school tie downs are far more dependable, and given how much money toys cost, I'm going back to the old-school solution.
We had two UTVs strapped down with eight straps and a tank strapped down with two straps when I purchased ten of these in February of 2017. The straps were soaked after we were caught in an unexpected rainstorm. As of the 7th of March in the year 2020 - Because the springs have rusted, broken, and failed in 9 of them, they will not retract. As a result, they are no longer valuable, and I had no choice but to throw them away. These straps would be great if they used a stainless spring, but because there's no way to protect them from rain when they're on an open trailer, they rust and fail. Great concept, but poor quality parts used. I only got to use these five times, so I'm confident they didn't break down due to wear and tear. I'd gladly pay a few dollars more for a product that would last a long time.
My riding lawn mower was secured on my trailer using tie-downs. I have two sets of two, both of which are now useless. I had to cut the strap for the first set (1" x 10') because I couldn't get them loose. It happened about a month apart on both straps, so I bought another set four months ago (the warranty is only good for 90 days), but this time I got the heavier duty (2" x 10') strap. I only use them once a week to tie down my John Deere X354 and mow 3 country miles, so I've only used them 12 times total. These straps are garbage, and they won't respond to the one email I sent them asking "what is the Warranty policy on the ratcheting straps?" These straps are garbage, and they won't respond to the one email I sent them asking "what is the Warranty policy on the ratcheting straps?" " PERIOD. It's funny how one fails a month after the warranty expires. ERICKSON RATCHETING STRAPS ARE NOT TO BE USED!.
I used to have some older retractable ratchet straps that I liked, and they still worked fine, but the retractors were broken, so I decided to replace them with these. These straps were used to secure a small 250cc, 350lb motorcycle to the back of my motorhome's ramp. After about 15 minutes on the road, I noticed that the motorcycle was moving slightly in the rear camera, so I pulled over and checked the straps. I tightened the straps again and continued on my way, despite the fact that I hadn't had this problem with my previous straps. I figured the motorcycle had settled in after hitting a few bumps in the road, so I tightened them up again. The same thing happened about 15 minutes later. I pulled over once more, and the straps were indeed loose. I noticed that they were thinner when I tightened them again. Because I was afraid they would snap, I took them off and replaced them with my old straps, and I was able to complete the rest of my 1,500-mile journey with peace of mind. If you're going to use these straps to hold something in place that could cause serious damage if they slip, I wouldn't recommend them.
Despite the fact that these are intended for heavy items and outdoor use, I use them to secure items in my hatcback and they work great. Any vehicle with the letter O on it From small furniture to boxes to supplies from Home Depot to folding chairs to large Costco runs, these rings on the inside can be used to secure items so they don't move in transit. br>br>Basically, these straps keep cargo from bouncing or sliding around and breaking while driving if you have to put the seats down to transport it. br>br>When I first moved into my new condo, I used these dozens of times per week. They are outstanding. They're an integral part of my automobile. Battery starter/compressor, fix a flat, scissor jack, folding storage crates, and two ratchet straps are among the items I carry with me wherever I go. br>br>Note: I've only had these for about six months, I've never secured anything worth more than $300, and I've never secured anything outside of my vehicle, so I can't comment on these points. However, at this price, even if they only last a year, they are worth purchasing.
The 6 ft is still mine. For the past ten years, I've been using a modified version of these straps, and they're still in excellent condition. This 10' x 10' rug is a great way to add some color to your They're made in the same way, but they're a little longer. These are ideal for any tie down needs, and they retract rather than having two-piece tie downs that are always difficult to store or adjust to begin tying something down. After trying a few of these with the push button release and spring loaded webbing retraction, you'll never go back to the old style 2 piece tie downs. For me, this is the only option. The 6 ft. The 10 ft. version is perfect for securing jetskis to a trailer. It's ideal for securing items in a truck bed or across a trailer.
When I bought a wave runner, the trailer came with this type of tie down. I was so taken with the style that I wanted it for other items, such as my canoes. These kept falling apart on the 450-mile journey to BWCA. Following my trip, I examined the design more closely. These are considerably longer than the ones on my Wave Runner trailer. As a result, the nylon strap isn't wrapped as tightly when they auto retract. It gets tighter as you crank it down - The inner part, however, is not as tightly wrapped - As a result of the bouncing around, they will loosen up over time. After 5 repetitions, it was tight enough that they stayed that way. Aside from that, These are some of the best tie downs I've ever seen. There's no need to tie an additional strap.
