It turns out that when you press these over the cable (10g 2 wire is what I installed), the nail heads drift toward each other, making it easy to hit both at first; they drift apart a little as they go in, but it's very handy and speeds up the job. I like how the flexible plastic mount prevents me from accidentally overstretching the cable. 5 out of 5 stars It would have been perfect if the plastic had been a fraction of an inch deeper, but that's getting petty. I'm very pleased with them. Instead of pounding in those metal "u" nails that overcompress the cables, use these or something similar. People who slammed the cable down too firmly have started fires.
I've worked as an electrician for over 40 years and recall when these were first released. We mocked them and dismissed them as inferior to the old-school steel Romex staples. I'm not sure when I first started using them. Coax cable might be stapled up. Anyway, I discovered that they were much easier to hammer in than the old staples. The trick is to start with one nail and hammer it in about halfway. Another benefit is that these staples will not rust if you run wire outside, such as under a deck.

They carry out their duties effectively. These thin nails can be difficult to hammer in tight spaces, but they get the job done. Other cable staples are more difficult to install. The nails may be a little long depending on the cable thickness.
These worked perfectly for installing 14 gauge Romax wiring along the ceiling of my garage for installing two heaters, and they're cheaper than any hardware store with free shipping, so you can't go wrong with them.
I like how the individual nails make them much easier to drive into wood than the traditional all-metal "hog nail" staples, which require a lot more force.
One such classic example is the Gardner Bender Plastic staple. This appears to be the only viable option in order to compete with the local big box stores' prices. The product is identical to anything you'd find in a big box retailer. These plastic staples are of good quality and come at a low price. A five-star rating for this product!.
These staples did an excellent job of securing 12/2 Romex cable in my garage. They were simple to work with and provided excellent value for money.
