Because that's what the wiring inspector wants, that's exactly what he gets. You'll be a happy camper if you use these on all 12 and 14 gauge Romex wires. I'm not sure why they won't take any other staples, but they won't: This is the right thing to buy.
These staples were used on paneling that had already been installed. When hammered into place over electrical wire, the paneling created a spring-like effect, and I didn't have a good experience with this staple as a result of this. It's likely that sheetrock would have worked better. Furthermore, the blue plastic insert intended to protect electrical wire did not always line up as it should have.
It's what it is; it's a staple hanging somewhere in the shop needle that's quicker than going to Lowe's.
They stink when they're cold for some reason; they're very soft but brittle, and the plastic parts are rarely centered, so they don't always work.
I like the blue plastic for both protecting the wires and holding them in the exact middle because the prices are better here than online.
The job called for RED staples to stack two 12-inch stacks of books. 2 NM cables were used, but they were far too long and prone to being bent during installation. It was fine after I cut it down.
There is no BS in this product. It is of good trade quality. Staples of professional quality with sharp ends that stay in place. Without having to go to a supply store, I was able to purchase what I needed. My order was quickly delivered to my home.
but. It's a fantastic idea to have a blue installation. When you hit a tie with a hammer, it tends to bend out of shape. Steel with a thicker gauge would be less likely to fail.
