This is a great replacement mailbox lock (with a couple of things to keep in mind)

The lock on the mailbox is similar to this one. Neither your lawn nor your clothes will be trimmed or washed by this machine. I would like to suggest a couple things you should know about this lock, now that we have that behind us. A few pros I like the construction of these they are heavy and solid in the hand for their purpose. Rather than having a spring clip that is pressure-based, I prefer the double nut installation. Installing (and taking out) the double nut is in fact easier (and more secure) if you have an adjustable crescent wrench. There are three types of prongs on this set in addition to the one you currently have. I chose the one with an additional step since any of them would have worked with my mailbox. I only had one mailbox, so it seems to work best on that. As is. A NEUTRAL VIEW The colors are red and blue. Among them, one has a silver color and the other has a gold color. If you want to put a brass mailbox next to a silver one, don't be like me and buy the brass-colored one. That looks weird. I won't worry about it, but make sure you match your colors before you get it. Because the lock is not at fault, this is a neutral result. PERSONAL CONS bought three keys and none of them were damaged, except for a few reviews that indicate there may be quality control issues here and there. All the keys I bought worked great. Honestly, I am not worried about this con. There may have been a quality control issue, but I didn't find a problem with a lock, so this is not a significant issue at all. When I used this lock in the mailbox that I used, the biggest issue was that the lock prongs did not rest tightly against the inside wall of the mailbox, so that when it was locked, the door would move about 1/8 of an inch. You could jiggle the door by touching it by about 1/8 of an inch, but it would not open. It seems to me that the mailbox that I had installed was very old, and that the new ones are more tightly fitted. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but I'd have preferred it if it had locked onto the mailbox a little more firmly. As far as I can tell, the lock is working perfectly. Keys enter and exit without error, and there have been no complaints (which is essential). While it was a bit confusing, I liked that there were multiple prongs, even though they all did basically We were going to give it five stars if it didn't allow for that 1/8 giggle. The cams are not working properly on one of them

It was necessary to turn the default cam 90 degrees to get this lock to work with my mailbox. It wasn't possible to open the mailbox when the cam was in that position, as it kept hitting the lock body whenever I tried to unlock it. Is it technically possible to grind down the edge of the lock so that the cam can clear the upper edge of the body of the lock? Other than the one I received, the other two cams that came with the kit were not defective, but they were too small In light of the above situation, the default cam needs to be redesigned so that regardless of the orientation of the cam being connected to the lock, it can clear the lock's body.

I have a bad lock The first time we installed it, we discovered that it would only work once

I have a bad lock When it was installed, I discovered that once the key was in the lock and turned to the locked position, the key would not come out. When the lock was not mounted, the same result was obtained. This indicates that it was not a matter of positioning, etc. We also found that occasionally the keys would latch badly on the tumblers even when in the unlocked position. I suspect there is a problem with quality control.

This is a complete waste of time

This is a complete waste of time. The second time I pressed the key, it didn't work. The key on the installation was stuck. Approximately 5 attempts to open and close the lock resulted in it becoming There is no point in returning to Amazon, so the purchase is a waste of time and money.
