Yes, this product has saved my life. In heavy canvas, I needed to install about 150 grommets. I was able to do it both vertically and horizontally by standing next to the fabric. Punches a hole that is completely free of debris. It's an excellent system!
Aluminum or tin are the materials used. I haven't decided yet. Aluminum is a non-corrodible metal.
I made flag bunting out of them. They've been exposed to the elements for several days and haven't developed any signs of rust.
It will work, but if the fabric is thick, it may not cut all the way through, forcing you to manually cut away pieces of the fabric. If the border is particularly thick, you might want to cut the holes first, then apply the grommet; otherwise, you'll likely waste a grommet trying to cut through the thickness, and you'll have to manually cut the fabric out anyway. I've tried it on linen, Velcro, and a variety of other materials.

It does exactly what it says. Will even work with the grommet if you refuse to read the instructions, which I, like all true gentlemen, did not. It will even work if you decide to drive a grommet from both sides, as I did. br>br>However, following the instructions and inserting a grommet into a washer will yield the best results. It's also less taxing on your forearms. Just putting it out there. br>br>A photo of the four knife rolls that now adorn my sharpening bench is included. Enjoy the majesty of it all!.
This was purchased to add grommets to a polyethylene patio shade cloth's folded and hemmed edge. The grommets do the actual cutting as they are pressed together, thanks to the design of the punch. It works well with lighter weight materials, but not with 2-pound materials. It appears to be very sturdy and will hold up well, but I was unable to pre-cut the layered border of the shade cloth, rendering it useless for my project. It appears to be very sturdy and will hold up well, but I was unable to pre-cut the layered border of the shade cloth, rendering it useless for my project. Because the tool's edge isn't sharp enough to cut much of anything, you'll need to punch with it.
If the tool clamped down enough on the grommets, the die would work fine. The jaws no longer close down enough to secure the stamp after about four good stamps. I improvised by squeezing down on the tie jaw with a large water pump pliers, which was clumsy but effective; if you don't do this, the tool will be useless. This is not addressed by the built-in adjustment. Sorry. The price is reasonable given the large number of grommets included.
This product was easy to use, but you should practice first and limit your layers of fabric to a thin weight, as the grommets will not fold over and seal properly if there isn't enough slack in the fabric. I ran into this issue, and some of the grommets were washed away. It was simple to re-create them. However, you should. However, the overall process does require some muscle; you will need to push it until it gives. I made some curtains out of bed sheets, and the process went smoothly.
I had to repair a 600-foot banner that was hanging on a construction site's fence, and I had planned to take it down in sections to add grommets to the top. This tool wore out my hands, but it did the job without the extra work of taking down and rehanging. The money was well spent. I can now crush golf balls with just my hands. (well, not quite, but you get the idea).
I bought this to put on our gazebo's shade curtains. Desn't punch through very well, and the grommets don't completely seal together when you try to use them, causing some to fall out. The tool can be adjusted, but they're mostly for aesthetic purposes. I slammed the machine down so hard that it crunched the metal grommets, but it still didn't mesh them all the way around. Because the machine does not meet the grommets squarely, a good seal is not achieved. This is not something I would spend my money on. If you can use a punch to put the grommets in the old-fashioned way, do so.
It sets grommets very well; I was punching through denim and layered tent material and it didn't even flinch. It's important to have a steady hand when doing this.
I made a tarp for my dump trailer, which has three-foot sidewalls, using this BIZOEPRO Handheld Grommet tool. I cut a 12 X 24 foot billboard wrap's heavy commercial vinyl to fit. I doubled the vinyl and grommeted it all around the trailer, which is six feet wide and fourteen feet long. This vinyl is heavy and ticky due to the doubling. The tool performed admirably, allowing me to protect the trailer from the elements and cargo loss while driving at 70 miles per hour down the highway. You'll enjoy using it and can now get started on a number of projects you've been meaning to finish. John.
