Continue reading for more information. These aren't precision cast to chamfer/expand/etc. , like most similar products. to plug a variety of sized holes As a result, for a 2" hole drilled in wood with a fairly typical name brand wood, these are slightly too small. Without using glue or silicon, two or three wraps of electrical tape solved the problem. Apart from that, they do a good job. The insert can be completely removed, and the smaller hole's view can also be adjusted. I deducted one star because of the firmament issue, but other than that, this was a much better deal than the one I previously purchased at Lowe's for the same price.
It's my garage door to the outside (not the big, metal one), and the hole is for the cord that's used every year to connect to the generator during hurricanes. I couldn't figure out how to replace the old covering piece because it had broken. I remembered the computer grommet, and when I got the 2-pack of them, I remembered the computer grommet. I'll just slide open the little piece and run the cord through if/when the next hurricane hits. Close it up when you're done. The varmints are kept out of the house.
The grommet fits the hole, but the wire passage opening in the grommet is too small. I couldn't even get my vga cable to work through it. Smaller USB wires were able to pass through, but multiples were too tight to pull through without jamming in the opening.
It's a two-inch-diameter circle, according to the photo. For a close fit, I purchased a 2" circular bit. I drilled a hole in the top of my very expensive stained red oak table. Then it was a very ill-fitting garment. I double-checked my measurements and discovered that the product is slightly less than 1 7/8" and not 2 inches. br>And, no, there are no installation instructions to clarify the diameter further.
I recently started a new job, and my new desk had two holes that were driving me crazy; these perfectly filled those holes, and they look so much better than the useless gaping holes that were there before. They are extremely well-fitting and stylish.
Because the product's diameter is 1 123/128", it won't fit in a 2" diameter hole snugly. Lowes had a product that fit me perfectly.
I placed an order for 2" grommets. These aren't grommets with a diameter of two inches. The outer lip measures just under two inches in length. To get it to work, you'll need a 1 5/8-inch drill bit. Regrettably, the labeling is incorrect.
Grommets are fantastic. Both the pedrilled holes in my desk and the ones I drilled are slightly loose. It is insufficient to make a difference. They do a great job of keeping things tidy and clean.
