Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
Post Mount Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Gate Opener Kit for Solar Swing-type Gates is quiet and quick.
The motor and gear assembly come with a limited lifetime warranty. The remaining parts are covered by an 18-month warranty. The kit comes in a TDS2 box, but it also comes with extra components (a solar panel kit) that turn it into a TDS2XP kit.
A 12V battery is required. Tube Gates have been optimized. With the AXDP Solar Panel Kit (included), you can use solar power. Any dual swing gate with a length of up to 24 feet is ideal. Tubular, decorative, ornamental, chain link, and plantation gates are all examples of gate openings. For push-to-open installations, you'll need the AXPO Push-To-Open Bracket Kit (sold separately).
Solar power requires a deep cycle battery. For GTO, Mighty Mule, and Linear Pro Access FM700, Pro 1000, Pro 2000XL, Pro 2000XLS, as well as Aleko AS and GG competitive openers, Ghost Controls offers a separate lockable battery box (ABBT2) to prevent acid leaks from damaging the system control board. All hardware and fasteners required for installation are included. With commonly available tools, it is simple to install. It is not necessary to use welding or make high-voltage electrical connections.
The system has been certified to the 2018 UL325 7th Edition Standard (which went into effect on August 1, 2018). Listed by ETL.

Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with the Homelink garage door opener that came standard in my car? I spent about 30 minutes trying to program it, but I couldn't get it to work. ?

I couldn't get either of my two Toyota Camry Homelink systems (2007 and 2018) to communicate with our new Ghost Controls gate system. Two separate remotes were used, each of which operated independently. I spent about 30 minutes on this. 45 minutes, exact instructions followed, buttons pressed until timers stopped working on their own - a minimum of 2 minutes - There is no indication that the Homelink systems are aware of the situation. My Genie garage door opener signals had previously been successfully cloned on both cars and were still operational.

What is the expected time for the door to open?

The answer to this question is entirely dependent on how much of an angle you're opening and closing. Mine takes about 8 to 10 seconds to fully open and a little longer to fully close at a 90° angle because one side starts closing a couple seconds before the other. (For safety and in the event that the gate has an overlap lip) Open for ten seconds, then close for fourteen.

Is it possible to use a marine battery with a 12 volt system?

Any 12- A volt battery may be used, but a 12-volt battery is recommended. A volt marine battery might be too big to fit into a standard battery box. If you use the ghost control battery housing, you can fit two 12-volt batteries in it. volts by eight This is ideal for a double gate because it uses ah batteries. Only one 12V 8AH battery is required if only one gate is being used. It can be configured for solar charging or hardwired operation with battery backup.

Is it possible to keep any of my current gto installation parts, such as the wired sensor, call box keypad, battery, and push to open brackets, if I switch to ghost?

Yes, some of the listed items, such as the battery and the wired vehicle sensor, can be salvaged. The keypad and the push-button Ghost Controls do not work with open brackets. We operate on a different frequency and employ a dual-frequency system. These items do not work with Ghost Controls because they have a shear rear mount. We appreciate your interest and are happy to help.

This is fantastic! * *(IT WAS AWESOME)
3/5

This is fantastic. I'm a 50-year-old woman who was able to put this together on my own. My gate is made of wood, and it's designed to look like a ranch gate. It's not the norm to have a style that PUSHES to open. But, aside from the pvc and the other listed accessories (push-button, etc. ), the only thing I needed was the pvc. Bolts and nuts were used in place of the U-bolts (open brackets, batteries, premium remotes, and zombie lock). For mounting the Positive Stop Plate (included), brackets are provided. I purchased a SOLAR-based product. Dual gate opener with electric power I had a few issues with the mounting of this, but they were entirely my fault, and once I got everything in place, it worked like a charm. This gate opener is fantastic, and I would recommend it to anyone in need of or interested in one. Because I'm disabled, I don't have to get in and out of my car four times just to leave my house. I'm very happy. br> RECENT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: After a month of heavy rain, my wooden gates swelled and dragged on the ground. It was impossible to get the gate to open by itself. The wooden gates were replaced with metal tube gates after I made my decision. When I tried to set the 'extended limits' on the first controller after mounting it on the tube gates, it would not move. It was indicating that it wasn't getting any electricity. Because the second arm works normally, I determined that the problem is with the first controller itself. I tried calling Ghost Controls' toll-free number, but they were unavailable. I've tried several times to get a free number but haven't had any luck. I'm disconnected after 45 minutes of waiting on hold. As a result, I've deducted two stars from my previous rating. If/when I speak with someone at Ghost Controls who can help with this, I'll post an update.

Very nice, it works well, it has good hardware, and it has a lot of options
5/5

It's exactly what I was looking for, and I'm delighted with it. Updated in September 2020: 3 years later, here's a quick update. I continue to use this gate and gate opener exactly as they were installed, and they continue to function flawlessly. The only issue I've ever had was when the batteries died after more than two years of use. They were replaced, and the system is still running smoothly. If you do a good job with your wiring, it appears that you'll have an opener that will provide you with years of trouble-free service; I've added another gate and am about to get another one of these openers, which is why I'm back looking. And because the remote can control two gates, I can use any of my existing remotes. I said it three years ago, and I'll say it again: there's no way it could be any better. I've also never changed the battery in the keypad. That's something I should probably do before the batt corrodes. (br>br>(end update)br>I spent months researching gate openers. Ghost Controls was chosen because it offered the best value and received the most positive feedback. I have a heavy duty double gate, a 10 watt solar panel, a double battery holder, a keypad, and a driveway sensor, all of which are controlled by ghost. The total came to around $1200. When I added the other items I needed, this was cheaper than the other. It was easy to set up and I had no issues. Everything I needed was included, including good instructions and excellent hardware. To run the cables from the ground to the other components, I used PVC/electrical conduit. It's nice that the keypad is wireless; after all, this is a high-quality gate. The control panel is attractive, safe, and dry. The actuators for the gates appear to be of excellent quality. The controller board has a lot of useful features. (the length of time the gate remains open, as well as the gate's travel endpoints) You can set the endpoints so that the gates are tightly pressed against each other and there is no movement caused by wind or other minor disturbances. The gates are nicely sequenced (no matter what endpoints you set, one gate is always the first to completely close). I've had it up and running for over three months and have had no problems; the two remotes work well and have a good range (400-600 feet). (approximately 500 feet). There are a few different gate modes to choose from, which is convenient; the auto open on departure (with the driveway sensor) is particularly effective. I can't express how pleased I am with this gate opener; I can't think of anything that could make it any better.

Gate Opener that works well! The TSS1 Single Automatic Gate Opener is the subject of this review
4/5

Here's the bottom line first, for the impatient among us:br>br>Pluses: br>I like the design of the control arm. br>Decent quality hardwarebr>Easy to program control panelbr>Good instructionsbr>Easy to add other stuff (locks, vehicle sensors, manual close/open buttons)br>br>Minuses: br>It took me almost a full day to install because it was a bit difficult. That is, in all honesty, the nature of the beast. br>The control panel would not sync with the remotes installed in my older cars. If you need "Push to Open" brackets, they'll set you back $22. They're way too expensive, in my opinion. br>br>In conclusion, I enjoy it. This gate opener impressed both my neighbor (a retired electrical engineer) and myself. I'd buy one again because it's a good value for the money. br>br>Installation details for my application are as follows: br>br>I purchased this unit to replace a gate opener that had reached the end of its useful life. My gate is 25 feet from the road and opens outwards, toward the street. The old gate opener was a "Push Open" model that was mounted on the driveway side of the gate that had been opened. I took out all of the old brackets, essentially starting from scratch in the "Push to Close" configuration. I chose this option because it places the control arm on the outside of my gate, giving me a slightly wider driveway. It's also worth mentioning that I double-checked my hinges for plumbness and that the gate operated smoothly. My hinges needed to be replaced/upgraded, but that's a different story. br>br>Confirm whether your gate will be set to open or close with a push button. This unit comes with the push-to-close brackets. They take $22 from you for a set of push-to-open brackets. I believe these brackets are overpriced because they are two simple pieces of flat iron with three holes drilled in each one. br>br>The installation instructions were among the best I've seen, and they were well-written (with one minor exception, which I'll discuss later). This is how it works: The hinges are used to secure the half-circle base assembly to the fence post. This base has four holes that allow it to be bolted to (through or around) the post; however, the location of this base is crucial. I had it centered on my three-inch (square) post at first, but when the gate was fully opened (it opens about 95 degrees from closed), it collided with the side of the bracket, preventing the gate from fully opening. I re- After that, you attach the two flat pieces that span between the control arm and the half round piece, making sure that the gate side of the bracket is flush with the post. The hinge side of the control arm can be positioned where you need it thanks to adjustment holes around the circumference of the half round bracket. Between the control arm's attachment hole and the face of the fully opened gate, you'll need 4 1/2" of clearance. When I put the arms in the first hole, I was able to get a good result. I discovered that the control arm housing collided with the half circle bracket before the gate was fully closed, requiring a 4 1/2" clearance. I was able to correct this by adjusting and welding the arms halfway between the holes, giving me the clearance I required on both ends. Ghost Controls should be aware of the following information. You might want to leave a little more flat area on this end of the control arm so that no one gets tangled up. br>br>Next, measure 35" from the holes in the arms you just set to the surface of the gate where you'll mount the second control arm bracket with the gate fully open. This is my only criticism of the instructions: On the set, they specify a 35" screen. Never bring up the diagram again. Because you can't adjust the open position electronically, this is a critical dimension because the gate must be positioned exactly where you want it to be "fully opened" before you permanently attach this bracket. I moved on to the controller box after clamping that bracket where I thought it belonged (35" from the center). br>br>After mounting and wiring up the controller box, which was a breeze, I followed the excellent instructions to set the gate closed position. I cycled the gate a few times, fine-tuning the second bracket's position until the opened gate was exactly where I wanted it. Then I welded it down, though it could have easily been bolted. Finally, because my control arm is now outside the gate (when it is closed), I needed a way to keep it from being stolen. A clevis pin with a padlock costs $33 from Ghost Controls, but I paid $30 for a 1/2" trailer hitch lock that I prefer. The hitch lock is the right size for the controller arm bushing, but it's a little too small for the brackets. To accommodate the new locking pin, I drilled out the brackets. br>br>Edited for clarity and spelling. I'll keep this review up to date if anything changes.
