Filing cabinets in the office should be locked to keep out prying eyes.
Many people are unaware that all of the compartments in a motorhome are keyed the same way, and everyone uses the same key. Since everyone had a key, I wanted to change the locks. This set was simple to put together and functioned just like the original locks. I was able to change all of the locks on my RV because I had five locks. My possessions are now safe. br>br> However, I informed my next-door neighbor that I had an old (original) key that could unlock his compartments in his 20-year-old RV. I proved to him that I was capable of doing so. He placed an order for the same set as I did. The locks he got had the same key as the ones Inside had requested. I have faith in him, and the chances of someone else obtaining the key are slim to none. br>br>Installation of the locks was simple. It's just like the original locks in terms of functionality. They were reasonably priced, and I was able to replace all of the locks with them.
My travel trailer's lock was replaced with a generic CH751 lock. The outdoor shower, which had a shorter lock, was the only one that couldn't be swapped out. The rest of the parts were easy to swap out (I did have to use the old latch piece because it was a bit shorter). My only complaint is that the keys have to be wiggled into the lock on occasion. Maybe after a break in period, they'll loosen up a little.
Installing it was a breeze. Separately packaged, so you don't have to worry about losing any parts if you don't need them all at once. Each one came with a wood lock washer, making installation in a round hole a breeze.
It appears to be of good quality and will last for a long time. When they arrived, they were in excellent condition. The only difficulties I encountered were due to the location in which I was installing it. What I liked best about the pack was that all five locks were keyed the same, so I didn't have to worry about keeping track of multiple keys.
We use these locks in place of the factory-installed ones that came with our travel trailer. They were simple to install, taking only a few minutes, and our storage areas are now secure with individual keys. I would recommend this item as long as you get a key that is not the same as mine.
They work well and were simple to set up. I reused the locking brackets from my old locks because they were specifically designed for the job and performed better. One of the nuts that secures the lock in place was missing threads, so I gave it a one-star rating. It was fortunate that the nut on my old locks was the same size; otherwise, I would have been frustrated if I hadn't brought a spare, as these are unlikely to be found at a hardware store.
These were used to replace the locks on the outside storage areas of a camper. It took less than three minutes per lock to replace. If the locks will be exposed to the elements, grease or lubricate them to make turning and inserting keys easier. In the Florida humidity, the fit and finish are holding up extremely well. If I need it for another project, I'll buy it again.
