The plastic bag that this lock comes in is not worth the value of the lock. Despite its strength, it is very easy to be broken.
Don't know why it worked but I broke the original lock into the tumbler of the safe and this went in its place.
If you hold any valuables in these locks, do not rely on them. There is a weak brass shaft that attaches to the lock lever, and it can be easily broken as soon as the key is turned. The one I have is fitted with a hasp and padlock.
My experience was that way, and I was pleasantly surprised. I am not sure if this is always the case, but it was with my case.

It is a cheap white metal painted gold. The result is that the nut is easily damaged and the threads are easily stripped Thus, the lock will no longer function. I'm skeptical that any of the reviews for this lock can be taken seriously since the lock is so poorly built.
The fit and finish is perfect. Worked as advertised with tight hands. Take a look at the reviews that have already been written. When using wrenches, I can see how the metal will snap. A socket extension was attached to a hand and the hand was tightened There was no problem with the The inop lock was removed by starting with a small drill bit and moving up to a larger one. The bits required five sizes, but the pilot hole allowed the higher size bit to cut through, preserving the lock, not allowing cabinet assemblies to lose their integrity.
When I drilled out the lock on my mom's old sentinel safe to replace the one he gave me, I was able to find his keys. This works well, but, I had a problem with the nut that holds the locking mechanism - do not overtighten this as it will strip the screw and the nut will no longer Located a loose screw and had to rethread it. However, the lock on this safe works.
This is a great fit for the Stack On 8-gun.
It was drilled out of the old lock, and this one was used My experience was that once I figured out which way the arms should be oriented, it was relatively straightforward (about 15 minutes It works great!.
used simple hand tools to install the lock and it stripped simply because of the effort. In addition, the nut also pulled the back off when I put the 3 way lock mechanism on. There is no point in this. Do people have another option they use?.
The design of the site is poor. This lock can be broken very easily because of two very weak brass tabs. The price is too high.
There was a mistake in my thinking. The factory set fits perfect and is just as secure as the aftermarket set. As well as a good price.
