Would you mind telling me how big this splicer is on the outside? What is the diameter of the shrink tubing you will need to cover ?

I used 1 inch on the diagonal, 7/8 inch on the horizontal. The tubing is 5 inches in diameter.

If I have a junction box that contains more than five neutral wires, can I connect them using this instead of a wire nut? Would you like to add anything else to the discussion?

You have to take into consideration the size of gauge of the wires to connect. As a means of justifying their use. A range of better connectors is available in It makes more sense to do that. The size of the wire will also determine how much it weighs.

Is it possible to use #12 stranded aluminum wire with this?

There is certainly no problem with it fitting from wire sizes #8 through 2/0. However, I wouldn't recommend the use of it since #12 is smaller than #8, which is on the small side. When installing the wire, don't forget to apply some corrosion prevention gel

Aluminum and Copper wiring can be connected with this cable

I recently installed a new water heater and noticed that the cabling from my box had stranded aluminum while the copper leads on my water heater were insulated. During the last water heater installation, someone had pigtailed the wires and place wire caps on them. The wires were melted and This is kind of scary. When I talked to my dad who has done commercial wiring, he said that aluminum and copper should not be directly connected and you should get a connector or splicer. With this thing, you can easily work with aluminum wire of 8 gauge and copper leads of smaller gauge. A hex wrench can be used to tighten the screws so that the wires are held Make sure you also get some oxidation paste and just coat the wires with it. It is always better to have more. It is easy to oxidize aluminum and the paste was purchased for just a few bucks on Amazon. It is good to have hot water and no arcing or melting.

I received a product that appears NOT to be a genuine Morris product. The part number is not stamped on the product, and the rating is AL7CU instead of AL9CU.
