Is it okay if I put this in the bathroom? No wet locations are allowed, according to the instructions. Is there anything else?

If we're talking about a light fixture, "wet location" usually means being outside or above the shower. Yes, as long as the exhaust fan is turned on during long, hot showers, as it should be to prevent mold from forming, and the remote switch is located on a wall that is not inside or directly adjacent to the shower. The other module is hidden in the wall or ceiling box beneath the light fixture.

Is it possible to use two separate units in the same room to control two separate light fixtures?

Is it possible to use it with a 1hp, single-phase, 120v exhaust fan?

It can be used for any task that necessitates the use of electricity. It merely acts as a switch that can be turned on and off. The light/fan controller is installed inside the light. The switch is powered by a battery. No wires. perfect.

This is a good product, but I wish the module was smaller and the wires were visible from the back

Update: 11/2/2019 (It works flawlessly now that it has been in place for a few days. ) When’m way down the hall, deep in the bedroom 100%, the switch will work. Despite the difficulties I encountered in installing it, I'm now very pleased with it now that it's up and running). Although the specifications state that it can be installed in any type of electrical box, I was unable to test this because I only had plastic. Electrical interference may be an issue if you install it in a box with multiple circuits inside, as I did in the first installation. My unit was not replaced by the seller because it was no longer required. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> 10/26/2019 (See my first review below)br>br>The seller is graciously sending me a replacement, but in the meantime, I was able to fit it in there with ease in a more straight in and looser configuration after making more room in the electrical box. That made all the difference in the world, so cramming this thing into an electrical box with a lot of wires might be a challenge. I believe that the direction in which it is placed in the box may have an impact, but I'm not sure. If you are having problems getting 100% switch action then look for a better way to install it and if possible behind the wall but outside the electrical box. Unless I move the position of where I hold the switch in the air, it may not work for the "On" if I walk 10 feet away with the switch. I think it's a great switch, and with this information, you shouldn't have any trouble getting it to work, and you won't have to go through the trouble I did. They claim that metal boxes are bad for installing electronics, but mine is entirely made of plastic. I'd buy this switch again in a heartbeat. PS. I received a prompt response from the manufacturer, who was extremely helpful and responsive. br>br>I spent about 4 or 5 hours installing this switch to replace a bedroom light switch that had been relocated to the hallway due to remodeling. It worked perfectly until I stuffed the module into a receptacle box for a light switch. By the way, they sell deeper receptacle boxes but I installed the standard size. When I jammed the module into the box the switch only worked about 50% of the time. I had seller support% They'd like me to contact the manufacturer's customer service department. I removed the cover plate from the receptacle box and yanked the module out while I was on hold. It now works 100% of the time, so it appears you cannot put any pressure on the module wires or the unit will only work sporadically otherwise. I'm not sure why, but my only guess is that the wires need to be separated or that they don't make good contact in the module when it's pressed against a hard surface. They didn't plan for it to be installed in a switch box when they created it. I didn't want to install it with the light fixture on the ceiling because I also have a ceiling fan and it seemed like too much work to remove everything. In addition, I suspected that the fan motor was interfering.

If you're an electrician, the switch works and the instructions are fine
4/5

Otherwise, you've left me in a state of limbo. There are no online videos that show how to install this product that I could find, and the instructions are intended for electricians only. audience of a certain size. The wires aren't black and white like most light wiring in the United States. Instead, they're brown and blue, with the blue (neutral) not connected as it should be, and the brown (hot) installed with input and output as known properties, or you'll have to rely on trial and error like I did. br>br>Once installed, it works fine, but the instructions are difficult to understand for a layperson, and there is no online video to help you. It's a piece of cake after that.

I'm an electrician by trade, and I'm blown away
5/5

will now keep a few on hand. I had a situation where I had power in the ceilings of every room in an old house. Pull chains were used to operate the old light fixtures. There is no outlet on the wall. Because this apartment was on the second floor and the paneling ceilings were attached to the roof's underside, snake wiring to a switch box was nearly impossible. I used it for the lights in the hall and living room, and they worked perfectly. br>br>I recently installed ceiling fans in the bedrooms, along with a universal remote control for the lights, but I plan to purchase a few more of these in the future.

Before placing an order, double-check the clearances in your junction box
4/5

Pull cords were used on almost every closet light in my old house. This wireless light switch was a great way to add switched lights to closets, especially in the basement where fixtures were hard to come by. The control box that connects to the light isn't huge, but if you have a small junction box or multiple wires terminated, it can be a tight fit. I had to replace the junction box with a deeper unit in one closet (and it was still a tight fit). Aside from that, the switch is simple to install and operate. If the junction box does not need to be replaced, almost anyone can install it (just make sure the light is turned off before disassembling). br>br> I bought two of them and put one in a greenhouse; a second in a cramped space I wish the switch had a more rugged appearance and feel. In my older home, which has traditional light switches, the switch plate looks and feels out of place. Because of the aesthetics, I'll probably only use it in closets that aren't used by guests. I'm also debating whether to buy more switches until I see how long the non-working ones last. How long does a typical 12V disposable battery last (and how much does it cost to replace it)? Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, and the switches are exactly what I needed. Temperature (hot or cold) appears to have no bearing on the operation of the greenhouse switch. br>br>I'll probably update my review once I've had a chance to test the battery life.

I bought it with an extra switch to make it look like a three-way switch. way to hang a light above a stairwell br>Both of them will be returned. br>The receiver is large and difficult to install in any wall, but we were willing to put up with it if it worked. br>It isn't going to work. When we first installed the receiver, both switches failed to trigger it 50% of the time at close range at close range at close range at close range at close range at close range at close range at close range We bought brand-new replacement batteries for both switches to give the company the benefit of the doubt. They then worked maybe 70% of the time which was unacceptable. br>At this time, we believe the product to be defective. Now it's time to unplug and get back to work!.

This is a good way to add a switch
4/5

In the upstairs of our older house, we had an old pull-cord type light. Getting wiring from the light box to the wall would have been extremely difficult, if not impossible. It would have been more work than it was worth. This wireless switch (8' linear distance between switch and receiver) was installed by us. It works flawlessly, and no switches are ever missed. The bad news is that the receiver is quite large, taking up roughly half of the interior usable space of a 1. The box is 5 inches deep. The switch is also quite large, not particularly attractive, bulky, and the switch buttons appear to be cheap. It does, however, work.
