Is this bracket equipped with a particular brand of wall plates? How much attention do you pay to the screws aligning ?

2 is a normal number You should be able to use the gang wall plate. Home Depot is where I bought mine. Mulberry is what I believe the brand is called. Their corners are rounded and they are made of metal. There were no problems with the screw holes.

I was disappointed with how cheaply made this bracket was. It is very difficult to hold the nails down because of their size. Everything seems to be working fine.

The purpose of this was not the same as mine. As you cannot hammer the bracket to a stud from the outside of the wall, installing it after the wall is finished is not an option.
