It'd have to be nothing more than a turntable. The amplifier voltage would be reduced if you used an all-in-one unit. This would eventually result in unsatisfactory or non-existent output.
Is it an SCR? It keeps cool in my experience by not having any working resistance, variable or otherwise. Yes, if you mean scam, con, or ripoff when you say SCR. I responded by returning it.
I just tried it on a lamp in my house, and it worked perfectly.
The one I bought only functioned as an extension cord.

A ground bee nest was too close to the house, so I had to remove it. To reduce the noise level at the nozzle, I had to slow down the shop vac. (Bees are frightened of nozzles because they dislike noise. ) Nest activity dropped to an unsustainable level over a four-day period, with intervals of about 4 to 5 hours. They eventually gave up after I plugged the hole. I'm confident that I'll find new uses for the device, and I'm pleased with the results.
My hopes were low, but I had no idea how bad it could get before I blew up. Several 110v motor devices (routers, fans) are connected to this power supply. The speed of the motor fluctuated at random (without touching the dial). Motors only engaged when dial was over 80% of indicator range of indicator range of indicator range of indicator range of indicator range of in The output was inconsistent even if the switch was set to bypass the controller. My safety was a concern for me.
I'm always hesitant to buy these kinds of devices because I know how to design and construct them myself. This is one of my favorites. For buffing and polishing, I needed something to lower the rpms on my 11amp angle grinder. It worked out wonderfully. Even when pulling the most amps at the slowest possible speed under heavy loads, the current was maintained. I'm considering purchasing another one.
The hoist was too fast without this speed control; now we can lift and lower the top very slowly, allowing us to control the task on our own. When the hoist is not in use, I reduce the speed of the garage fan to a gentle breeze. What a fantastic tool!.
It was probably the cheapest and most readily available speed controller at the time, and I looked all over the valley for it, but no one seemed to know what I was looking for. I was fortunate enough to be discovered by Amazon. But, in the end, it worked, though I wish the speed control could be set a little lower.
I tried it on a belt grinder after using it on my buffer. While there was some variation, it wasn't as great as I had hoped, and it didn't slow down as much as I had hoped. It might work better if you use a regular electric motor.
It takes the place of the bulkier and more costly vari- a transformation Controlling the speeds of an AC motor with an electrical controller is very effective. The first time I used my new shop vac, which could only run at full speed- until I was able to get this At a slower speed, it's now quieter.
