The reason I chose this product was to supplement an Eaton CHSPTULTRA, and Amazon specifically recommended it because a 50AMP breaker is required to use the Eaton device. However, when I first attempted to install the Easton surge protector I discovered it would not work. As a result, this is a review of using it with the Eaton CHSPTULTRA. In its main application (using solid core cable), I'm sure it's a great piece of equipment. It is the attached photos which cause the problem. In general, the tightening screw only works with solid core wire, and will not work with stranded wire. As you can see, when fully screwed down there is still a large gap, so the cable would not be compressed and would hang freely.
It would have been quite impossible to purchase the same thing at a lower price at Home Depot or Lowe's. In the event that you purchased separately and built it yourself, you would have spent twice as much. I was very pleased with the quality of the enclosure, breakers, wiring, labels, and receptacles. GFCI 120volt 20amp 15amp style outlets are present in the enclosure. We were very pleased with the shipping packaging and delivery. It's been hard to find breakers at your local hardware store, but this one has double pole Siemens 50amp breakers, so I purchased it with them. Moreover, it was equipped with two Siemens Q series or style breakers - one equipped with 30 amps and another with 20 amps. A subpanel on this panel provided power for my welder and air compressor. My problem was that I had to switch one of the containers to a Nema 6 The plug type I use on my Hobart MVP210 Mig welder is 50R. In my case, I used the other outlet to power an 80gallon 7hp air compressor. I highly recommend. I highly recommend. I recommend it!.
Here is my other main breakers box which was delivered to me with pole and connectors Identifies itself only by its number, has no logo & no contact information I think these breakers will The shape of.
According to prior reviews, this breaker was supplied with every part needed to install it into an existing panel, including screws (countersink and pan head), and tie bars Although the blister package opened, the contents of the shipping carton were not damaged or lost. A little scotch tape is necessary to help keep the blister package It would have been very helpful for me to have had a template for a new install. A generator that utilized two poles and 20 amps was installed in a two pole and 20 amp breaker.
I thought it was decently built, rugged enough, and worked well. The pin terminals would also work as long as you happen to have a few lying around (I've noticed they're seldom sold separately).
The surge protector had to be connected to the panel using a 50 amp double pole CB. Connecting the surge protector to each circuit breaker lead provides protection for both phases of the circuit that are connected to the breakers There is a Siemens power panel, and I needed a Siemens circuit breaker for that panel. I am very happy with the installation and it worked perfectly.
Having purchased many of these breakers from this seller, I have found that the 2 pole 50 amp breakers function well below their original ratings. There must be a manufacturing flaw in the batch of breaker we received from this supplier as I have had three customers call us with issues with the same exact box breaker (Only happens with this seller).
My new whole house surge protector came with this. I bought it to use with it. I had to buy it from my electrician's "supply house" and it was much more expensive. As it was exactly the same as one he would have installed anyway, the electrician said. I liked how easy this was to do and it worked as expected.
