Questions & Answers

Does this product have the capability of being installed ?

Although the placement of the mounting holes may require a bit more effort due to its horizontal mounting capabilities, it can be mounted horizontally. It should be no problem to operate the switch and wire it.

Do you include a QO200 switch in this package? if it is not, then what is the specific device in it. ?

The QO-code is present on this box In the switch are 200 transistors.

Is there an upper limit for the gauge of wiring this box can handle?

It is possible to use wire up to #4 copper as the maximum size

For example, do you think it would be suitable for an outdoor pool pump that runs on a 20A dedicated circuit but has no disconnect outside?

The purpose of the disconnect is to disconnect the service. Overcurrent protection is not provided since this is a molded case switch. In order to protect against overcurrent, a circuit breaker or fuse must be installed upstream. This circuit breaker is set up to handle 60 Amps, so a circuit breaker rated at 20 Amp will work well upstream. At the back of the enclosure there is a 3/4 knockout which has been removed. In order to use this, it would be required to plug it or use it as a conduit. In that case, yes, that's the answer to your question.

This looks very nice at first glance, however, it is a cheaply made product
3/5

The rubber gasket on this one should provide a better seal than the more common metal outdoor box that is the same price. I chose this one as it has multiple reviews that said it would be better. I opened the package, and as soon as I opened the package, I noticed it was much larger than I had expected. There are some things that are easy to overlook. Opening it up and removing the cover reveals that it's a bit Although it was adequate, it was still satisfactory. Having said that, now we'll get to the bad, which is why this product only received The left side, bottom and rear of the car only have a 1 1/2" knockout. There are no other knockouts that are smaller than 3/4 inch or larger than Although it would have been nice to have at least one-half inch of material on the bottom, it did not matter. In order to get the 1/2" knockout, you have to knock it Inside this 3/4" knockout is paired a 3/4" crystal. The screws are being held in place with cheap plastic. One of the worst things is that the tabs that hold the knockouts in position are facing in the same direction, so when you knock out any knockout, it breaks the biggest one free, leaving a huge gap. A manual hole may not be drilled on the bottom as there is no free space. It took me several attempts to drill out a 1/2" hole inside of a 3/4" knockout in order Yet the plastic is still so weak that it partly broke away from 3/4" of the machine and A metal box would have made it very difficult for us to produce this issue. It would have been easy to fix if a 1/2" knockout had been designed without being nested within a larger one. Until I get a new box, I'll need to live with a huge hole in my box covered with duct tape.

Some people have a problem with lockouts
4/5

Plastic is flimsy and flimsy is the box. In terms of knockouts, there is not a lot of variety and removing them is challenging. Although the switch does not operate correctly, it looks good when it is There are two plastic protrusions on the back of the box, which cause it to sit about a quarter inch off the wall. A terrible value, but it was hard to find something else at a reasonable price that could handle 60 amps.

Doesn't look like a breaker except from the outside I think this is a switch
5/5

It's not a circuit breaker, although the listing images make it look like one. This is simply an on/off disconnect switch that has no over current protection or circuit function. The "knock outs" on this box are not difficult at all despite comments that they are difficult. I have had similar experiences with plastic knock outs on other boxes. With a utility knife I can cut through the thicker web and the correct knock out can be easily removed. In addition, the internal safety cover has a washer to keep the screw captive, so it won't be lost.

Every surface, except the top and front, has plenty of knock outs, large and small.

This is a much better option than typical pull-out disconects
5/5

In my case, I used it to replace a pull out disconnect on my 5 ton AC unit which had worn prongs that caused unreliable contact, thus causing the compressor motor to fail. The flip switch style disconnect is much safer than the pull out type as arc flash seems less of a hazard and is easier to operate than physically pulling out a disconnect. Plenty of mounting holes are available and the build quality seems durable enough to last My recommendation for this disconnect is a definite yes!.

Done the job, but the quality of the work was not up to Square D quality standards (especially For a pump attached to an outdoor fountain, I used this disconnect
3/5

In general, the item functioned well, which was good for the price. In my opinion, I would give it a three-star rating, however, given that the plastics themselves were not of high quality for a product This is especially true since this is their QO line versus their lower line of residential items. I have used several other QO and Homeline items and have been extremely satisfied with both the production and quality of those items. In addition, it would have been beneficial to include a neutral and ground bar (they only provide one) for anyone who might need it for such a purpose. I think that Square D will be able to produce a better product in the future, considering the product does work and will not be opened a great deal. Here's what you need to know!.

I was looking for something like this
5/5

Thanks! During my visit to a big box store, one of the clerks told me I only needed a standard light switch to turn off all the electrical equipment around It didn't seem like enough outlets with 12 outlets. In my attempt to explain what a "cut-off" was I looked at him as if I were from another planet when I told him that I had turned the switch off. My needs were met with this.

I liked the disconnect, but there were a lot of things missing
3/5

Although the AHJ initially rejected it, it was later reinstated because the box had not been signed by the AHJ There is only one bus on the panel The ground and neutral are both in the bar (for either ground or neutral), while ground and neutral are in the sub-box It's not possible to bond panels, so you may need to buy a new I'm going to raise the bar on this. There is quite a bit of flexibility in the case, so you won't have to worry about cracking It is quite possible to run a few wires through there.

Ensure that relays are compatible with each other
5/5

While I wish you could select your relay along with the end of your order instead of having to order it separately, I have so far been very pleased with it. The solution was exactly what I needed to protect the wiring for a tankless water heater I installed in my camper, and I could not be more pleased. We will need to see if a winter or summer will make a difference to it since it is for outdoor use.
