Questions & Answers

How do you get a piece of the "magnetic screw lock sleeve" out of the magnetic holder that was in its own bubble?

Mine arrived this morning. That bit is yanked out from behind you. It came out after a lot of wriggling. After you've done it a few times, it becomes easier. It took me a few moments to figure out how to make use of it. The bits are pushed in from the back, and only the long ones are used. When I put it in my screw gun, it all made sense. The sleeve is slid back far enough on the bit to reveal the tip. Then you can screw it in place, and the magnet/sleeve will keep it in place. At least, that's what they think. It's something I haven't yet tried. It appears awkward at first, but if you're putting in a lot of screws, I suppose you'll get used to it.

Is it possible for me to combine them with Black? What is a Volt Drill?

Yes, anything with a standard chuck should work, but larger bits may not fit if the chuck is 3/8! br>It's highly unlikely that 1/2 bits will fit.

What's the secret to getting these pieces back into their plastic storage containers? Only the plastic appears to be bent. ?

Instead of pushing them in from the top, which is what most people try to do, you should slide them in from the end. You must also have them at the proper angle, or you will encounter more difficulties than necessary. It works great if you know how to do it, but it's a little difficult to explain. The best I can say is to slide the bottom end of the bit starting at 12 o'clock and continuing until it reaches the bottom at 6. Do not attempt to align the back of the bit with the length of its slot and push it in from the top; this almost never works. If you don't remember to place the bit at the correct angle, it won't work. With time and use, the slots loosen up a little and become easier to get in and out of.

What is the location of production?

Taiwanese maker of the holder and socket adapter. The remaining components are manufactured in Vietnam.

Surprisingly, it's not very usable
3/5

I can't believe I'm having to say this about a Dewalt product; I'm used to them being about as good as it gets, but this set had major usability issues. br>br>The case is sturdy and comes with the standard sliding lock. The issues begin as minor issues, but they gradually become more serious. The case has a lot of sharp edges, and if your fingers are tender after a long day at work, the case isn't very comfortable to use. It also has a lot of openings on the inside that trap dirt and, worse, rain. When you close it up to go off site, this speeds up corrosion of the boys inside. br>br>The bits themselves are well tempered and precisely ground. However, they appear to be so adamant about stamping them as made in China and Dewalt that it's difficult to tell if it's a P1, P2, or P3 type bit, and so on. One bit had no markings at all, and two others were so faint that I needed a microscope to read them. Please, no more "China" or "Dewalt" references. I know who you are and where you're made. I'd like to know your height and weight. At the very least, stamp them properly. br>br>The bit selection is also a little odd. Is it possible that there are too many P2 bits? There are far too many S2 bits, which don't wear as quickly as S1 bits and are mostly found in Canada. The bits in my set were arranged strangely, with the P3 in the middle of the S series of bits, and so on. br>br>Up to this point, they've been relatively simple, but getting them in and out becomes much more difficult. The little black tabs get pressed inside the rest of the holder if you try to press them back in, so mine will not press back in. You must reinstall them, which is difficult due to the limited space. The holders don't even swivel up to make getting them back in any easier. They have tessalation and are unable to move because of it. It's even difficult to get the holders in and out, as I don't believe they're supposed to be messed with. br>br>I was fortunate in that I had an old blow-dryer that I could use. Years ago, I bought a cheap set of bits and made a molded case out of them. As the official Dewalt case is so unusable, I was able to move them into that. br>br>Another issue is that I'm not sure what the markings on the slotted bits mean? I'm used to them being labeled based on the blade's width, or even a combination of width and thickness. I ended up using my micrometer to figure out why one marked "8" was actually a number six. It measures 97mm, which is about 1mm longer than the one labeled "6," but 1mm shorter than I expected. If quality control is so bad that they can't even get the size of plain slotted 1/4" hex bits right, it's scary to think about what other nasty surprises are lurking, waiting to be discovered.

Fortunately, Amazon's customer service is excellent, and they accepted them back
3/5

This was a pile of garbage. DeWalt should be ashamed; if you're going to save money by having them made in China, at the very least ensure that they're of good quality. The heat treatment on these bits was not done properly. Drill bits that have been properly heat treated will break rather than bend. Both the 1/8 and 1/4 bits were bent by me. Fortunately, Amazon's customer service is excellent, and they accepted them back. I'm not going to buy any more DeWalt parts!.

These are by far the most effective bits I've ever used! These are my favorite parts! I've had the same 2 Phillips bit for a month and it shows no signs of wear
5/5

In the fasteners I've used, it also fits better than most Phillips bits. Did you read the simple instructions on the package if you're having trouble removing the bits from the case? Pull up on the top of the bit, then straight out. It's one of the best bit holders I've ever seen in a case. It's simple to take off and secure in the event of an accident.

The image of the product is incorrect
3/5

Overall, this is an excellent set of impact driver bits and accessories. The product photo is not accurate, so I gave it a 3 star rating. The 3/8" nut driver shown in the photo is NOT included in this set. Instead, a 3/8" socket adapter is included. This was a part that I really needed. So I kept the set and paid $3 for the nut driver at a local store. Overall, this isn't a major issue, but I would advise Amazon to update their product image. A photo of the complete list of parts included in this set is attached.

Although the packaging and design are poor, the contents are likely to be of high quality
3/5

When I'm at work, I hate puzzle boxes. Drill bits are something I'm familiar with. I am not a child of ten years. Except for the magnetic sleeve, which I'd never used before, most of what I expected was delivered without any need for instructions or explanation. I couldn't tell what this was from the picture on Amazon, but I ordered it anyway because I needed a better set of bits than the ones from HF for a project. So, first and foremost, I'm curious as to what this thing is and why they include what appears to be a cut-off screw, as well as what this 'pull' on the packaging means. The package's image is also illogical. I've been trying to figure out what this is for more than an hour now. Google and YouTube are two names I'm familiar with. The issue is that Dewalt produces a variety of versions and variations of this kit, and it's not at all intuitive or simple to use. Anyway, this is how it works for noobs like me who have mag sleeves. The bit is held in place by a screw on the other end of the sleeve. You can still use two hands, but you won't have to hold the screw and the drill in place at the same time because one end of the sleeve is magnetized, allowing the screw head to attach to the sleeve. One of the torq flex bits is inserted at the other end. I'm not sure if I got a bad one, but getting the bit in and out of the sleeve requires a lot of twisting and jamming. In any case, the end of the bit should protrude from the magnetic end if it's properly inserted. Attach the screw's head to this end, and you're done. br>br>I despise the box as well. How do you know whether it's locked or unlocked when you close it? Because the sleeve and one of the bits do not have a holder, they are loose and fall out or require fiddling. br>br>The components themselves appear to be of high quality. I haven't yet had the opportunity to try them. Because this arrived late, I had to finish my project without them, which was difficult given the poor quality of the parts. These, on the other hand, appear to be of high quality. Many of these, however, I will never use, so I would have preferred more ph3 bits, for example, but this is always the case when purchasing a set. br>br>So, 0 stars for packaging and design and 5 stars for what appears to be useful parts. br>br>update: br>br>update: br>br>update: They've been my go-to bits ever since I got them, oddly enough. I haven't had one fail yet, and the flex bits, in my opinion, do work, and if you set your drill clutch correctly, you have a lower chance of stripping a screw. I just wish they came with a wider range of bits rather than a large number of 2s, but I suppose I'd be complaining if it came with a bunch of bits I'll never use.

The magnetic screw holder alone is worth the price of admission! 🧲
5/5

There are a lot of small parts in this kit that I'll probably never use, but every time I use the magnetic screw holder, it's worth its salt. A is also the name of the small carrying case. It appears to be well-made, and it fits snugly into the carrying case that came with my DeWalt compact 20V Max drill/driver. This was money well spent.
