I'm a do-it-yourselfer, and I just finished tiling the floor of our 35-square-foot bathroom. I bought the cross-shaped spacers from Lowes/Home Depot and tried them out, but they were going to be a pain to work with because I was using hexagon tiles. These were recommended to me by a man in a YouTube video. Wow - They're far superior to the cross ones. Instead of fumbling around and wasting time, you just grab them and pop them into place with ease. They're a little more expensive than regular spacers, but the time and hassle you save is well worth it. I bought two boxes and they weren't enough for my small floor because I used two U's on each side of the hexagon. However, I completed my floor in three days and simply reused the tiles from the previous day. They were all fairly easy to extract. Only a few got stuck, and I had to use some extra force to get them unstuck. I'll definitely be using these for future tiling projects.
Plastic burrs from the extrusion process in the manufacturing process were visible on many of these in the package. As a result, the spacing became erratic. br>br>I began by inspecting each item in the package and attempting to remove the burrs with a knife or a Dremel tool. After a while, I had had enough and returned the item.
I'll never use the stupid little X-shaped spacers from home improvement stores again now that I've tried these spacers. This is incredible - Consistent, simple to use, and easy to locate if one is dropped. It's larger than I anticipated, which is a good thing. After a few uses, they do get mortar stuck on them, but scraping it off with a fingernail is simple enough. This book comes highly recommended.
These have a nice shape and size to them. They're functional, and you'll have something to hold onto when it's time to take them down. They're not too difficult to keep clean. There is one problem: One side is smooth and easy to clean, while the other has ridges that provide a surface for mortar to adhere to.
These are superior to spacers made of soft plastic or rubber.
The only option is to use these massive spacers. Both inserting and removing them is simple. This is an excellent product.
It's exactly what was said.
Much superior to the spacers. Simple to work with.
