Questions & Answers

The mesh is composed of what material. What is better for a boat fiberglass, aluminum, or steel?

Aluminum is the material of the screen. Your kind words are much appreciated!

How much less air is taken in by the louvers? The standard wire mesh without louvers seems to be less effective at allowing air to pass through. ?

I'm here! *br> *br> RBLS There is one louver on each side of the 100 2" vent (NO LOUVERS) that is two inches wide and two inches tall. According to the manufacturer's website, it has 846 square inches of net free space. A similar vent RLBL-80 has a similar size. An air vent with louvered and screened sides allows 0.0" of air to pass through. I believe this product has an area of 803 square inches net free according to the manufacturer's website. Thank you!

Pitch of the mesh what does it mean?

The way it is is pretty good

Make sure you have your tin snips handy
3/5

It is unclear to me how this product can get five-star reviews from every customer. If you do not have hands the size of a drill press or a milling machine, do not expect these to fit inside of your 2 inch drilling hole. The holes in these vents were too loose so that they would fall out with just gravity. So, I used my 2 inch hole saw in a hand drill and drilled a couple of holes. To keep these vents secure, I cut three points around the perimeter of the holes using tin snips and bent the material out of the way so it would grab the opening and stay in place. don't understand why people said they had to pound these into place in the reviews? There is a problem with the way they are designed. They are not tight within the hole they are designed for, and I believe that is a design defect. These could have been made much better to fit properly within the hole that they are intended for without requiring a.

I love the way it fits
5/5

A pair of these simple yet stylish two-inch vents was purchased for my patio cover. A screen keeps insects out of the vents, which is a nice feature. (I bought a 2" hole saw and tested it on a The fit nice and snug, and I think they will look incredible painted black. I wish the company offered that option, but I couldn't find it. Update Painted them black (used the Lennox hole saw and installed on I love it, fits perfectly in the 2" hole.

Birds, bees, and wasps won't be able to nest in your yard
5/5

Our attic is a favorite place for starlings to nest every spring. The air conditioning installer had to work in the attic last year while installing the air conditioner. As he came down from the attic, he found two large garbage bags full of bird remains that the birds left behind after occupying the attic for six years. We determined we needed to block the air openings and found that a secure 2 inch vent with screen inside would not only keep birds away, but also stings and wasps away as well. I added a small amount of caulking to the aluminum vents before inserting them into the holes to help assure their stability.

The fit is tight and well made
4/5

standing on top of my roof vents and chopping through them. They were purchased to put in the holes in my attic so they cannot get in. I do not even need to use caulking to hold them in place since they are so tight. In every hole where I have put these, the woodpeckers have just moved to another section that doesn't have these. I probably will have to purchase more since every time I have placed these, the woodpeckers have moved. The price of these is a little overpriced, but this is a good, cheap way to keep woodpeckers out of my attic.

I found it to be the best price I could find for a louvered vent cover
5/5

Those louvered vent covers with screens are at the best price I could find. We used a Irwin Industrial Tools 3046010 2-inch drill bit to make a two inch hole Three inches tall All of the holes were drilled evenly and properly with the Self Feed Drill Bit by Cutter. It would have been easier to push them in by hand, but I used the 2 inch pvc pipe coupler, which I was not sure how to use, so I couldn't get the cap in firmly and straight. There seemed to be a bit of play in one of the caps. It was not sure if the hole or the cap caused the problem, so I just sealed it.

This is where we live and it's essential
5/5

My husband and I live outside of town in the Pacific Northwest. Our house is built with wood frames and It is important to have vent holes in soffits As a matter of standard practice, these windows should be covered with hardware cloth or insect screen. That stuff is easily chewed through by the squirrels in the neighborhood There have been several times when they have managed to get in. They cannot pass through these louver vent covers unless they are properly installed. I like to support local merchants on things like these, so yes, I can get them locally. I believe this is possible, but Despite the fact that it was significantly less on Amazon, I purchased quite a few of these products. I got exactly what I ordered, I received it in excellent condition, and the louvers arrived just as I predicted. Hopefully, we are squirrel proof now In addition to the insect screens, these soffit vent covers also come with a rain guard. It would be a good idea to install these louver if you have soffit vents that have been protected with a cheap method in the past. A bug or two will eventually take up residence inside. If you want to be 100% sure, you'd better lock your doors! The best way to install these is to first add a ring of good quality caulk around the hole before inserting If you have louver slots, be sure they point down, toward the ground, and not up, toward where rain comes from.

The covers are excellent
5/5

Approximately ten packages of these covers have been purchased to keep the bugs from getting into the vents in The covers I bought are the 2 inch size because all the holes I have are 2 inches. According to the manufacturer, I had to use tin snips to cut the metal flange at least four times on the back to compress it when I inserted it into the 2 inch holes. Once I got my hands into the hole, I used a cup from a 1 1/2 pvc pipe and hammered it in PCV caps protect the covers from damage caused by hammers. My final step after installing all the covers was to paint them to match the exterior paint that was already on the steel.

Not as big as it should be
3/5

It is a full 1/8" smaller than the reported 2" diameter of the covers I received. Have tin snips ready or plan to do other modifications to get them to stay in place in a 2" hole, as mentioned in other reviews.
