Shipping was extremely quick. I can't speak highly enough of Flexxpoint's gutter covers. I put in 202 feet, and they look fantastic. It feels great to know that I've finished cleaning my gutters for the last time. I can't say enough good things about the product, the quick delivery, and the price. There were plenty of screws on hand, and the installation went off without a hitch. I never had to measure because the holes are at a 45 degree angle, so cutting the corners is simple. To all my friends and family, I will be one of your most ardent supporters.
For your drill, you'll need a 1/4" nut driver that's an inch long. Great product. br>1) For a week in the fall, I observed one low gutter: br>2) Very light weight with adequate stiffness. Leaves occasionally land, but they blow off within 24 hours. br>3) Because the product snaps into place and stays in place without screws, driving screws with one hand is simple. br>4) Be sure to get a magnetic, 6-inch screwdriver. 1/4" nut driver for your cordless drill, 1 inch long. On the ladder, you'll only be able to use one hand. br>5) The system was installed in the fall and is performing admirably. Catkins, the stringy tassels that fall from oak trees in the spring, are a source of concern. I'm worried that wet ones will clog the covers' holes. I'm hoping that the heavy rains will wash them away. In the spring, I'll find out. But, thus far, it has exceeded all expectations.
I recently had a new metal roof installed and purchased old plastic guards from a local home center with fiberglass screens on the underside. They were inexpensive and did a good job of keeping debris out of the gutter, but when it rained, I noticed that water would pass over the screens and over the side of the gutter rather than into it, so after doing some research, I determined that these offered the best protection while requiring no real preventative maintenance, unlike all micro mesh screens, which I read must be cleaned because they clog with mold and mildew. I began by replacing all of my gutter brackets with improved K style brackets, as well as re-installing all of my gutters. My gutters had been pitched. I started by laying these flat across the gutters, but I've since raised the backs to a slight angle. I just wanted to make sure that tree debris didn't end up on top. There was no water coming over the top of the gutters when they were completely flat. Improvement over the old plastic screens by a factor of a factor of a factor of a factor After the pitch change, I was a little worried that the water hitting the pitch's screens would cause water to hit and bounce off, but this is not the case. With a 5/12, there is no water passing over the screens. Water drains much faster from a 6/12 pitch metal roof than it does from asphalt shingles. With good scissors, cutting these is a breeze. These essentially interlock from one screen to the next, and they're easy to set up. I'd like to emphasize that these ARE NOT the case. Although the screen is 48" long, it only has 45 1/2" of usable space. 1/2” gets overlapped on each end so don’t figure how many 4’ guards you would need but count the actual footage and adjust 10% for waste of screens Ice dams, on the other hand, have nothing to do with gutters, so I have no concerns about them in the winter. When the temperature on your roof rises due to insufficient insulation, the heat melts snow, which then falls on the cold eve of your roof overhang, which isn't warmed by inside air, causing water to freeze. If you're prone to ice dams, water will freeze before it reaches your gutters. Metal guards will not help with this problem because it is an insulation issue. If your roof is warm in the winter and there is snow, you will get ice dams if you don't have gutters. These are fantastic value for money. They fit perfectly in my 5" gutters and, like any screen, will hold leaves until the wind blows them away, but will not obstruct water drainage.
My gutters are a recent addition to my home - After the last hurricane, it was installed- Made to order and included in the price of the new roof. I got the 5" guards because they measure 51/2 inches. I used 1" stainless screws to secure them to the back of the cabinet. The gutters were pulled to within 1/4" of the back side, which is just under the overhang, as a result of this. This appears to work well, but I had to set it up ahead of time. It took some time to drill for the longer screws, but it's worked out well so far, and I'm happy with it. I wish they had a cover that was 5 1/2 inches wide. Now I'm looking forward to seeing how they fare during the next hurricane. The extra clearance was very useful. I was missing two pieces and wished they would sell them separately, but shipping would be prohibitively expensive.
Screws were included and installation was simple. It was easier to install because I had a 1/4 magnetic nut runner and a 6 inch extension. Prior to installation, the gutters were cleaned. br> Hopefully, if there is a heavy downpour, water will be able to enter the gutter. My roof is 30 feet long and 9 feet wide, with a 9-foot ridge. 12 pitch. Hopefully, I'll be able to observe and report on the situation. br>It stiffened up the gutters significantly.
These are very light. It is simple to set up. Keep the gutters clear of most debris. However, debris collects and accumulates on top of these, so I still have to clean them off with a ladder a couple of times a year. I had hoped for a lower level of upkeep!.
When leaves fall on them, they are simply blown away by the wind. Every day for a few hours, I like to look out my window. to witness the changing of the seasons.
The screws were of good quality and arrived in excellent condition. They add a lot of strength to the gutters and they fit in the gutters perfectly. Installed all 204' in an afternoon with many corner cuts Because they almost snap into place, the better your gutters are installed, the easier these are to install. I wish there was a way to order specific quantities of material. br>br> When I measured the house, I discovered that 204 would be sufficient for the entire structure, with the exception of the patio roof. And the 204' pack could have used about 20 more screws because I had a lot of corners that required more screws than most installations, but it all worked out in the end because I stretched them out.
