I believe it stated that you could not return them if they had been used or if the plastic on the back had been removed. If you bought something from Amazon, I believe return fees are determined by whether or not you have a Prime membership. ECT.
Yes, they are slightly visible if you're talking about cut pile (plush) carpet. It doesn't matter who makes them; this is true. It's also critical to install cut pile carpet in all tiles with the pile running in the same direction. Otherwise, due to the way the light hits the tiles, the color will appear to be different.
Any type of adhesive has the potential to harm your hardwood floor. I wouldn't put carpet tiles down on hardwood that you don't plan on refinishing or that you won't want to keep in good shape once the tiles are installed.
To properly insulate your basement floor, you'll need more than carpet tiles. No, that is not the case.

These tiles were, on the whole, exactly what we needed. It was very simple to put together and it looked great.
We bought our first house in April 2019, and I've been slowly redoing some areas of it (first, I tiled the laundry room floor, then I redone the main bathroom, and now my wife has requested new carpet in the master bedroom). We were planning on going with the big orange store (you know, HD) for free tear-up, installation, and haul-away, but I asked if we could try the carpet tiles first because it would save us a lot of money. Only two of the 45 tiles I received had issues (one was cut to an irregular size, and one didn't have arrows to indicate which way the pile faced). Our master bedroom is about 150 square feet, so I ordered five boxes of Whisperwood. While it is a little thin, and doesn't feel as good as carpet with padding underneath, my wife absolutely loves it; she says it looks like a whole different room; I like it as well; I wish the seams didn't show quite as much, but I can't blame the product for that; I knew what I was getting into, and some of the seams could be chalked up to my install as well; however, I have a few spare tiles on hand. I've vacuumed it at least a half-dozen times in the two days since installation (just to get the loose fibers out), and not a single tile has moved. We love it so much that I'm ordering 5 more boxes of whisperwood for the office and 5 more boxes of mink for the upcoming nursery.
TLDR; br>It's a little frail, but it looks fantastic! br>It's a piece of cake to set up; if I can do it, so can you! br>Adhesive initially feels weak, but once it sets up, it sticks. Only two tiles out of 45 had manufacturing flaws, which is an excellent ratio. br>The seams are visible, but they aren't too bad, especially since the fabric is so thin. if you're going to put furniture on top of the carpet br>If you're on the fence about buying them, don't be!.
These tiles were purchased with the intention of being re-installed. A bedroom in the basement should be carpeted. The color Mink was chosen. They are very simple to put together and look fantastic. We decided on a staggered pattern, and while you can see the seam in some areas when standing directly over them, you won't notice it for the most part. At first, we were concerned that the adhesive that comes on the back of the tile would not adhere well, but after you lay them down and tamp them down a bit, I haven't had any of them pop up. No other type of extra adhesion was used. Before putting these tiles down, we scraped the old carpet and pad off the floor. On top of concrete, we installed them. br>br>These tiles have been in place for about 3 weeks, and I think they're holding up well and looking nice, though I would recommend vacuuming them a few times because there were a lot of loose fibers. We expected there to be little padding because that's pretty much standard with carpet squares, but the plushness helps to provide some cushion underfoot. It was very easy to measure and cut the tiles. Each tile has a few arrows printed on the underside to indicate the pile's direction, and each pack includes installation instructions. For this project, you'll need a carpet cutter, a square, a marker, and a tape measure. Underneath the pull strip, some of the arrows were hidden. We initially thought there were no arrows on some of the tiles until we removed the plastic backing strip and discovered they were underneath. br>br>We had a problem with our order because three of the eleven boxes we ordered were slightly off color. We didn't notice until we were nearly finished with the project because it was the last three boxes we started putting down. We contacted the seller on a Saturday evening, and they responded within 15 minutes and had replacements shipped to us first thing Monday morning at their expense. We spent no money and only had to wait four days for the new tiles to arrive. I was very impressed with the customer service provided by All American Tiles; every correspondence with them was pleasant, and they were very apologetic and determined to make things right. In the future, I would gladly do business with them.
Instead of 9, I only got eight squares. I contacted the company, and they promptly dispatched a replacement, which I received in a matter of days. I received not only the extra square, but an entire replacement order of 9 full extra squares as well. Nowadays, who has this kind of customer service? Thank you for taking care of my floors. When placed correctly, following the recommended directional arrows, the squares themselves look great and blend in well with minimal to no visible seams. Although there was some minor thread shedding due to the fact that I had to cut many to size, they have held up well overall. Even though I had to stick a lot of small pieces tetris-style, the adhesive held up well. Create a look that works with the irregularities in the walls. A mix of light and dark gray threads make up the mink color. It's not particularly plush, but I'm not looking for a 2 inch pile when I buy carpet squares, and I'm happy with it overall.
Peeling the plastic off was a breeze for me. If you grab the white strips where they are, they will come off in one piece. If you follow the arrows 98% of the tiles fit together to the point where you could not tell they were tiles! It looks fantastic, and my landlord mistook me for someone who had rolled out a whole carpet in my living room! However, vacuuming should be done afterward. And I had to use a heavy piece of wood for a while to get it to stick well in a couple of places. But otherwise I am 100% pleased with these carpet tiles!.
Although the squares can be seen through the carpet, they appear to be in good condition. They're simple to cut and apply, and they hold up well. I believe it would have been worthwhile to apply a prep primer first to help them stick better. The peel-off paper was the only real gripe I had. Some of the boxes were great, and the middle strip peeled right off; however, a few boxes appeared to have the backing cut incorrectly, and the main part would peel off, leaving an inch or two of clear backing on the carpet tile, which I had to peel off with my fingernail.
