So I ordered these to go with my new light brown garage doors, which I had recently installed. The product arrived in a nice box, but when I opened it, I was disappointed. The handles and straps had a dull gray color to them. The original paint had mostly chipped away, if there was any at all. The handles and straps were rusted. I wouldn't use these on the most obnoxious of doors. I needed to buy some Rustoleum metallic paint. Even so, I had to go through a lot of coats before they looked halfway decent. br>br>Take the time, put in a little more effort, and spend a little more money to get a better product. You will not be satisfied with these.
They're a heavy metal band with excellent production values. I screwed them in after drilling a hole for them. It was simple to put on and it turned out beautifully. The only drawback is the packing materials paper, which claims that there are different screws for the handles when there aren't any. Screws are used across the board. For years, my lady has dreamed of owning a home and putting on a show like this, and I recently fulfilled her wish. They make her very happy.
These are decorative metal hinges that are a little heavier than you might expect. The quality is excellent, and I believe that the value is as well. Because you must line up and level the hinges, mark locations for the holes, drill holes, and then screw each piece together, I gave the "easy to Install" rating three stars. It's not difficult, but it's not as simple as the magnetic ones. (I tried the magnetic brackets first, and they looked good, but they moved every time the garage door was opened or closed. ) )br>br>Now for the bad news: the hinge kit was missing screws when it arrived. There were 16 screws in the bag, but 32 are needed and should be included. br>br>The good news is that I contacted Amazon, and they will send me a replacement set for free.
On aluminum doors, it was simple to install. To begin, I drilled pilot holes, and the screws appear to be secure. Because of the size of the "handles" in comparison to our door panels, we only used one of them. There was only room for one. I'd suggest it.
I contacted Amazon, who in turn contacted the seller, but neither of us received a response. I was fortunate enough to come across some screws with similar heads, which I painted black.
On our old doors, I had a different (plastic) set, and I wanted the same or better for our new ones. These Dummy Hinges and Handle are of excellent quality. The screws went in without a hitch after I predrilled the holes - (aside from one missing screw, but we have a small hardware store in town)br>I would highly recommend these.
There is no hardware included in this package. And after they were installed, we discovered that we couldn't use the handles because the garage door became stuck and nearly broke. I wouldn't recommend it because the garage door (handles) decor protrudes far too much.
It's simple to set up, even if it's not particularly practical. I assisted in the transformation of plain garage doors into elegant ones. br> Sturdy and well-packaged product. Plastic that isn't cheap.
