My door opener started malfunctioning just as soon as I moved into the house. I recently moved into a house that is only 5 years old, and I had to purchase this product to replace it. It has been broken for a long time. According to my home inspection report, the issue is classified as a "failure. "

With time, I imagine that the plastic "hinge" or edge of the button gets weaker as it keeps on being bent back and forth, until it breaks from continuous There is a serious defect in this product and I wish the manufacturer would fix it!
My solution is Adding a little bit more length to the screws behind the buttons replaced the two set screws that were there. If this is implemented, the distance the button has to be depressed to activate the lights or door will be reduced. My solution for replacing the 2 screws behind each button was to use a few #6 x 1/2 metal screws from a local hardware store. Approximately five of these also worked for me On the top side, 6 #6 washers are used to prevent the set screw from driving too far and making accidental/permanent contact with the metal plates behind the buttons. Even though I wanted the screws to be shorter and not use washers, I was able to find the perfect screw without spending much time on it. This was super easy. It was easy to pull apart the door opener, allowing me to see that the longer set screws were the right By adding longer screws, we will hopefully be able to decrease the distance between the buttons, which will hopefully reduce their wear and tear.
I was able to install it in two days on time after ordering. The replacement is certainly recommended by me to any one in need of one.
There is a garage door service company that says this part is obsolete and everyone on the island needs a new opener system for $600 to replace it. Though there is no longer a need for this part in new openers, it is still a necessary purchase. It is just a matter of getting one and fixing it.
When the house was built, there was a unit in my garage. My ten year old destroyed it, so I had bare metal in the garage. Having ordered this part (which works better than the original) and having it installed by my handyman, I have been extremely happy so far. The fabric is thin and flimsy. The two I have are both the same. A four-year term and a five-year term were the duration of the first and second. While I would replace my whole mess if I was smart, there's no sense in replacing the part that's broken.
The attempt to return was unsuccessful. A message was left for the vendor, however, it was never responded to. A very disappointing experience.
