This is the first time we've seen it. Because this is a part that wears out, it would be useless to sell one that has been used.

A review appears to have been done after the fact As soon as I installed the part, the gear would not collapse fully because the housing dimensions were different from the original part.
After some thought, I ended up removing the gear and all the parts from the new housing and replacing them all with the old one. In this way, the gear was able to engage with the screw rail with no problems. As mentioned, I been surprised that everything didn't fit as it was supposed to but as I said, I must assume that this was an afterthought. There is a market part that differs from the original in its tolerances. As for the old parts, removing them and replacing them with the new parts was not a huge deal and spent only Still, I was able to lock and unlock my garage door for only.
I cannot use it directly since it does not match OEM specifications. The screw drive failed to engage with the screw teeth when the lever was 'lifted' to engage with them. The 'lift' was too high, so the latch did not To install the new carriage pull you had to take out the screw 'teeth' and install them in the old carriage pull. Moreover, (as previously described) the magnetic field of the new unit is MUCH smaller and is not reliable. I also get the old magnet because I've used the old carriage pull. In general, there are a lot of blacks. The old grease has to be disposed of.
The problem I encountered was the same as that experienced by the previous buyer. I managed to install the lever easily, but I was unable to engage the screw from the lever's corresponding position. Taking it apart and taking out the metal screw caused me to do so. As long as you don't mind the grease, it's not difficult. You only have to remove a few springs on both sides and remove the upper axis to release the screw "teeth. ". Replacing the screw "teeth" in the original carriage with the new one will be the last step. There is one advantage to this method over the other. You can keep your old carriage, which is of a much better quality than the new one, and you will not have to worry about the plastic carriage breaking after some use, or the magnet inside the new carriage being.
I was able to sell it to my dad because once he saw it, he realized this is what I needed since the original had been It was built in 91 and this garage system is a pretty old one lol I knew if I took it to a garage repair shop they would suggest I It wouldn't work if you pushed the garage door all the way up and flicked the string latch thingy lol, it would go down, but then it wouldn't come back up though it still made a sound so it must have been working. Whenever I order them, my brother comes to set them up for me. There was a little difficulty since you had to get the old one off, and my brother had to get the motor track off the motor for it to slide off, but he handled it in about After two months, it is still running smoothly despite being a little older! This is a very easy and inexpensive fix!.
There should have been a model number cited by the other reviewers. The description in this product says that it will fit Genie model 459 openers, and the 459 is listed as one of the models this part is specifically for. This part fits on the rails nicely, but WILL not engage the screw's teeth when the lever is lifted. As the other reviewers have stated, the teeth do not engage While the height this part moves is perhaps a tenth of an inch different from the original, the set of metal teeth inside of it matches the original tooth set, and that was the ONLY part that was worn out, and I could only replace that part with the original piece.
It would seem that that has been said many times before but it has never been This would mean that you need to replace your motor coupler, if the screw drive DOESN'T turn when you push the button. It is entirely possible that the screw drive can turn, but the door still won't unlock, which means this part (the carriage) has failed. The reviews said several times that this part goes bad, so I bought it. A year ago, my car looked as new as it could be! We know who lubricates their screws and who does not. In your case, the coupler will simply crack and fail. I found this fix to be simple and easy.
As a result, I ordered the less expensive part from Amazon (Garage Stop) rather than from Genie. As for the Amazon part number, it was the same as for Genie. Does this mean that either Genie or Garage Stop have modified the part or does it just seem to be a problem of older models not fitting correctly? It did state that it would fit my opener (it does state it will). As soon as I compared the plastic carrier on the new part to my old one, the differences were evident. I removed the gears and put the new one in my original carrier, which was easy, but greasy. The fitment recommendations of Genie, Amazon, and Garage Stop could stand to be reviewed. I might just offer the metal gear piece with instructions on how to replace it, or maybe even just the instruction sheet. I'm sure you can do it easily enough.
It requires a lot of effort to pull the red rope on the new carriage I'll have to try taking the "teeth" out of the old carriage and putting them into the new one. I have also tried remounting the screw drive for the carriage, but it is harder than did it with the original one. Earlier today I cleaned out all the old grease in the old carriage and transferred the "teeth" from the new carriage to the old All hours of the day and night As it was back to smooth and easy to engage and disengage the carriage, it was so much better.
