Questions & Answers

Can this couple be used with the older craftsman model 4TA5389C?

This is a universal part for any Chamberlain/Craftsman garage door opener with a screw drive. In the owner's manual, I could verify the part number.

What is the model number of the liftmaster 2220?

You should be able to use it if your old part looks similar to this one. The one I used worked without any issues. My order for an extra one was actually to save in case it broke If the opener is already installed, you will need an extra pair of hands to replace it.

How can I find out if this fits the liftmaster 132c2255?

There is a diameter of 1 on the outside. There is a circumference of 160” and a length of It is 6". There are a total of 8 grooves. The diameter of your old one needs to match the diameter of your new one so you can purchase the new one

I have a Craftsman part 41AS150- does this fit Is 2005 the first year?

You should be able to use it as long as it has 8 cogs?

Does work, but make sure you position your door and motor correctly
5/5

The Liftmaster got some attention. There was no binding in the original coupler, and it appears that it broke due to brittleness. By simply taking off the mounting bolts, dropping the motor at an angle, attaching a new coupler, and bolting everything back in place, the motor is set up for operation. It is extremely important that you Check to make sure the position of your motor and door are matched. The motor side of your coupler is up while the base side is down. If you pressed the open button and the garage door didn't move, your motor side was in the up position and your base side was The result is that when you attach them and turn on the opener, the motor will try to lower the door that is already down, which may cause the coupler to break. As soon as I turned the garage coupler, I saw that the garage door moved in that direction. As a counter-measure As you face the door, you would lower it as you face clockwise and raise it as you face counterclockwise. Once that was accomplished, I hit the opener button to find out which way was the motor end turning and matched up the two. When your door is down, press the button until the motor side moves opposite the direction your door is opened. If we face the door, then it will end the cycle in the down position since it will turn in the clockwise direction. Once you reach the top, you will understand what I mean.

Thanks to you, I'm able to open my garage door But if you are planning on doing it yourself, beware
5/5

My Liftmaster Professional is now working again. Replaced the belt and it worked perfectly! Warnings you should know when attempting DIY projects Once your garage door runs after the original coupler broke, the open and close limits of the opener will be out of whack. There is no way to simply insert, re-insert and forget about it Hit the door and the button of the trolley to lock it There is a possibility that the opener or your door will be damaged. As soon as you see the trolley traveling from opener to door normally, leave it free. As there is no way to reset the limits, you are advised to leave them alone until you need to fine-tune it. In order to return the trolley to its original position after replacing the coupler, you have to rotate the screw drive manually (using the coupler) - this is the only way. Usually it will be near the door or the opener. After about 10 minutes of turning (changing For my door opener, I use step 3) to return it to the door. When it broke, that was where it was. If you are comfortable with the way that it travels along the track every time you press the button, then you can put it all back together and adjust its.

Coupler for Liftmaster just like the original
5/5

It turned out that the old coupler on my Liftmaster 1/2 HP screwdriver had a hole on the side My garage door opener broke when I hit the button to open it. The motor was still running and the lights were still on, so it was obvious that something was wrong with the gearing. I checked YouTube and found that the plastic coupler was designed to fail as it absorbs shock so that the screw or motor does not break. The one I owned was shattered into 8 pieces, which is probably just the result of age and fatigue (it's The part I found on Amazon was found to fit my vehicle. The installation was fairly straightforward, but required a socket wrench to remove the screw track from the opener, and to loosen the mounting straps so that the opener could be swung away from the track to make room for the coupler to be inserted The opening were mounted about six inches from the ceiling so there was only just enough space for me to work. The motor was first run in the "down" position before installing the coupler. I then rotated the screw by hand to raise the trolley to the "down" position, so the door would run in the correct direction when it was Once the coupler had been inserted, I prepped the screw, springs and wheels with grease to keep everything lubricated. I needed to adjust the travel for both ends on the first try, but other than that it ran fine. My quick and easy fix took less than just an hour, and the coupler now functions well. I hope it lasts at least another 16 years.

The first thing you need to do is check the coupling on your LiftMaster screw drive garage door opener
5/5

There are some good YouTube videos to help you. You can use the camera on your cell phone with a flashlight employed to check the coupling if you do not want to take it apart. Once you order this and the part arrives, you will be able to see it to determine whether it is broken and not have to take off the unit. My solution was to find a socket that fit snugly inside one end of the coupling in order to calibrate the door. For centered carriage positioning, I used my impact drill to drive the worm gear. In order to set the proper limiters, I tightened both limiters and ran the door back and forth while extending them until they were accurate.

I am very happy with my garage door coupler
5/5

It's been about 15 years since I replaced my garage door opener. As I left, the door was halfway open because the opener wasn't attached to the track of the door. While I was turning on my garage door opener, I let the door take hold of the track so it could reconnect the door to the track, and the shock of it hitting the stationery door caused the old garage door coupling to fail (you could hear it When I bought the new coupler, I checked to make sure there was no car underneath the garage door opener, just in case anything went wrong (i. e. Bolt or nut falling from the ceiling. The track is not heavy, and I relaxed on a ladder as I held the track on my shoulder (the track is not heavy). Disconnecting the track from the garage opener motor was definitely the easiest part of the job.
