Questions & Answers

This replaces the 43-volt motor starting capacitor How to troubleshoot fujitsu towa 94292 53 mfd 220 vac 30b387?

The new technology does not replace the old one. A voltage as high as 220 VAC can be used but a capacitance of 70 mfd must be matched. The number you have here is 43. million pieces of metal per day, far less than 70 million pieces per day. I wish you the best of

When you describe it as an OEM upgrade, what makes it a "upgrade"?

It is very similar to the original in both looks and operation

Do you think this will work for the genie PMX5001C?

It's hard for me to say. To examine the capacitor, you will need to take it out of the opener and check its model number. It is possible to find cross referenced numbers online. That is how I found the opener that worked with my laptop.

Do you think this would work on 1/3 horsepower?

You should be able to use it on all

This could be an interesting installation (for installation)
3/5

Installing the replacement I hooked the wires up exactly as they were in the old unit - one- to ground In order to make sure I don't make a mistake, I did one more. There's nothing to do once the program is installed! When I was on my way to HD to buy a new garage door opener, I decided to do one more As a result, the wires are backwards Oh, did I mention that? I was able to accomplish it! Thus, don't rely on the position of the printing on the case's exterior as it might not be It's not possible to add or subtract The capacitor has a marking on it showing the direction the wires should run.

We will have to wait to see how long it The capacitor I had for some time was about ten years old and was very badly corroded around its terminals.

There's no need to panic

Amazon has come It was told to me by two garage door companies that the motor needed to be replaced. The system didn't even need more than that. Installing the product was simple. I was able to finish it in about 45 minutes The time it took from start to finish was minutes. That included taking down the ladder and getting the tools out of the garage and moving the cars out. It was installed on an automatic garage door system made by Genie. I was helped to troubleshoot the problem by the Genie (800) operator. I was able to save $375 because of this part. The cost of a new motor is $800. A prime membership from Amazon is a lot of fun.

I couldn't get it to This is a lower MFD value than what is actually there
3/5

Fits easily and is easy to install. The problem with my garage opener has not been resolved. It works as it should (moves slightly and then retreats) but it doesn't close quite as it should. Having the same genie opener for 20 years, my third cap replacement would have been quite a feat. It seems that this capacitor (I received a second one as a replacement) has a measurement of 50-55MFD rather than the 70MFD it is printed with. I would round that up to There is a 30% discount. The uppercase and lowercase should be equal There is a tolerance of 10%. Used my father-in-law's cap (original 20 years), still measures at 77MFD and works perfectly in mine, no issues. Bought a second one, but had to return it. Despite my disappointment in the return policy, I give credit to the seller for replacing both items so quickly. Ultimately, had to buy a cap locally with a measurement value of 75" to 80" Those with 85MFD caps are wider at 2 inches wide. Remove original clamp mount and tye the new one in. It should be attached to the motor screw mount at the same location. The interface is easy to use. It's flawless and secure.

The problem has been resolved on my 25-year-old Genie model I've got an open garage door It is important that you unplug the Genie unit from the power outlet before doing anything else
5/5

The following points should be considered before placing your order The transistor can be found by removing the plastic cover of the motor. - (Mine was In the photo above, you can see how to slide the old capacitor out of its If you are going to remove the four wire connectors from the old capacitor, please note their positions before removing them. (You can take a picture of the model number on the info label to determine what capacitor to order and you can snap a photo of the wire/connector positions for future reference)

Once you receive the new capacitor, Installation should be fairly straightforward Take note of the round indentation next to the connector's base (see photo) and then unplug each wire from the old capacitor and then reconnect them all to the other new connector one at a time. One of my connectors was corrosion-ridden. Then I used an X-acto knife to scrape it away Use a knife and sandpaper to accomplish this task. In order to remove remaining corrosion, I soaked the piece in vinegar for a few minutes. It is hoped that you will not have to face this situation. The capacitor should be returned to its tube sleeve once all wires have been connected. You might want to plug the AC cord back in and try again. I found it to be effective. I hope you will find it useful.

This Fairbanks Garage Door Motor Starting Capacitor is compatible with Genie G5000 garage door openers
5/5

Having had this screw drive opener for 25 years, it gets heavy use as the principal way to access the yard (as well as for accessing the As I checked on the internet two days ago, a bad start capacitor was listed as the most likely cause for it to stop working. The original capacitor was readily apparent to be leaking oil when the cover was removed. I ordered this capacitor from Prime. I replaced it, and I am back up and running. As it turned out, the most challenging part of the process was getting one of the four wires disconnected since the connector didn't want to come free from With a little leveraged persuasion, the deal was made. All the steps required (cover removal, initial inspection, replacement of the capacitor, etc. Redesign of the cover.

What's the deal with the pop, sizzle, Let's fix you up with this! The most common problem with garage door openers can easily be fixed with this simple kit
5/5

it makes a popping noise or sizzles when you open it and smoke comes out, you have a blown capacitor (see attached picture). You will need to unplug this opener and let it discharge the old capacitor for a couple of days before using it again. Check with an insulated screwdriver to be safe (as well as having an insulated screwdriver). Once you've got the old one, take a picture of it and note where the wires are in relation to the small circle. It takes only 5 minutes to swap out the batteries, and you are good to go. It is most likely that garage door companies will try to talk you into a new opener for $200 (plus installation and labor). In any case, if you want to have these repairs done, the service fee will be at least $50. This is for you to do yourself, so grab it and get started. You can also view many YouTube videos to see how you can do it.

My Genie 3060L 1/2hp has been repaired
5/5

In minutes, I was able to replace my broken capacitor. It's ready to use in a few minutes. I have a Genie 3060L 1/2 hp garage door opener that suddenly stopped working (installed in Initially, the motor would buzz for about two seconds but not move, then ceased to buzz. Researching online, it appeared as if the capacitor would probably be the best fix and it would be an inexpensive gamble before replacing. It only cost me 20 dollars and took me 20 minutes to solve!.

I installed it on the garage door of my in-laws just before their widowing
5/5

Upon installation of a capacitor from another company, that capacitor exploded when the door was being raised for the second time. Rather than keeping the pieces, I returned them to Fairbanks and replaced them with better ones. The next morning she called me saying the garage door was not working. She had heard a loud bang that night. After ordering a new capacitor from a different company, I set up the return of the old capacitor. Upon replacing the capacitor a few days later, it turned out that the garage door was working fine. There was no latch on the door to hold the screw drive in place. And as for the loud bang she heard? I can't explain it. This capacitor has been cancelled and I am extremely satisfied with it.
