This aircraft cable is made from stainless steel that conforms to the American ASTM standard T316 and is corrosion resistant, oxidation resistant, and wear resistant. In an effort to prevent corrosion caused by salt water, chemicals are added. Nickel is in 10% of the wire rope and chromium is in more than 16% of it, which is not prone to rusting as cheap steel wires. Wires of 1/8 inch stainless steel are easy to maintain and are the best choice for outdoor cable railings.

A summary of the product specifications are diameter = 1/8 inch, length = 600 feet, breaking strength = 1800 pounds, and cable construction is 7 by 7. When using, 260 pounds of tension is considered safe.

It is best to use a hydraulic crimper with left and right hand lag screws to hang the wire horizontally

You will need a hydraulic crimping machine, left and right hand lag screws, and a hydraulic crimping machine for cutting. To screw in the lag screws, I used a drill chuck. Make sure you buy more than one drill bit to get through 6 in. I had never mounted wire on a deck before, but this made it so much easier.

It's perfect for updating the surround of a deck

Earlier this year, the deck was refinished, with old spindles removed and new cabling installed. A few minor glitches occurred during installation, but otherwise everything went smoothly. It gives the feeling that the deck area is much larger by allowing you to see through it. It has so far been considered a "wow" by those who have seen it. We were kept in touch the entire time, and the vendor asked if we had any questions, which was a bonus!.
