There was no discernible difference in weight or quality
3/5

These stilts disappointed me a lot. br>After more than 22 years of wearing stilts, I've occasionally experimented with brands other than my go-to Dura-Flex. Stilts. br>Normally, a lack of quality or comfort prompts me to return to the Dura- Stilts. br>Recently, both of my knees have been giving me trouble. As a result, I began my search for a lighter pair of stilts. I was hoping to keep the convenience of wearing stilts while reducing the strain on my knees. br>So, these SurPro Magnesium Stilts caught my eye. Despite the fact that I had previously tried SurStilt standard stilts and found them to be heavy, uncomfortable, and the Aluminum wore out the bolts quickly, I decided to give them another chance because of the emphasis they placed on the "light weight" aspect. br>br>So, I purchased a pair. I unpacked them when they arrived and was blown away by what I saw. They have the "look" of a well-made pair of stilts. br>After that, I started putting them together. It wasn't difficult to put together, and a small wrench was included. I chose an average "in-between" height for my stilts. On all intersections, use the "between" setting. This is nothing new to me because I used to teach our company's men how to walk on stilts. br>I immediately noticed that the adjustments were completely off. I've "never" had to adjust a pair of stilts this many times, or adjust the springs so far out on a "new" pair of stilts, just to get them to the point where I could walk in them. Most anyone could put on a pair of stilts and walk in them the way I do. br>Here are a few pointers for those of you who are still interested in trying out stilts. The calf cup should be set slightly higher on the leg than usual, the bottom spring should be adjusted up about a half-inch, and the straps/calf cup are a little different from traditional stilts straps, so strapping in and dismounting can be a little different. The calf cup is "slightly" more comfortable, in my opinion. br>br>The bracket that holds the side pole in place is designed in a way that I dislike. It appears to have a lot of travel in it.
Ok. So, after I FINALLY got them adjusted, with my assistant on the ground loosening and tightening them to make fine tune adjustments, I noticed another problem. The shoe plate at the bottom of the stilt foot bends out of whack when you stand in one place for an extended period of time with your weight on an angle. Then, as you begin to walk away, it continues to stick up, as if a spring has broken or a bolt has come loose. It's difficult to put into words, but all I can say is that it was extremely inconvenient and gave me the impression that the plastic used to make the shoe plate was of poor quality. After all of that, the weight difference was the primary reason I purchased them. I knew there wasn't much of a weight difference between these and the original Dura's, but when you're on a pair of stilts for 8 hours, it's a big deal. Even if it's only 10 hours, it's a start. This was the part that disappointed me the most. In case you were curious. I held a SurPro Mag Stilt in one hand and a Dura in the other and couldn't tell the difference even after switching hands. Then I had three more people, who had no idea which stilt was supposed to be lighter, pick up these two different brands of stilts, and one said the dura was lighter, and the other two said the same thing. br>So, after an awkward and unimpressive walking experience, I decided to disassemble them and return them in their original box. For what it's worth, the side poles that connect to the calf cup are covered in a thin layer of plastic that, when adjusted, tore easily. On the surface, it appears to be attractive, but the concept is of poor quality. I'd prefer an aluminum pole to one with some plastic in some places but none in others. Stilt walkers are well aware that their stilts are subjected to abuse as they move from job to job. br>br>The only positive aspect of this experience is that Amazon and the seller followed through and refunded my money.

5/5

For the past ten years, I've been working on ceilings. I've gone through a lot of stilts, but these are by far the best! They're fantastic, and I strongly advise you to try them! I'm not as tired as I used to be after a 10-hour day on these! Excellent craftsmanship comfort ! Alex JS CONSTRUCTION extends his gratitude!.

There were two tornillos missing, and the package arrived incomplete. I prefer to buy them myself because calling and requesting them is such a hassle.
