Questions & Answers
These were purchased for use in my grandson's clown costume. They've been used for drywall in his family's home by his father. They have a lot of power. I'm not sure how much weight they can support. My grandson is 15 years old and weighs around 125 pounds, and my son-in-law is the same age. Law stands 6'2" tall and weighs around 150 pounds. I sincerely hope that I was of assistance.
The combined weight capacity of these specific stilts is 228 lbs.
We do not recommend these stilts for your weight because the load capacity is only 228 lbs.
Put on your regular footwear, such as boots or sneakers. The platform has heel support, and the straps keep your feet in place. They can fit any shoe size.

Complaints about the calf straps kept popping up in my head. These stilts are of good quality in general. I've been on them for about a year and a half. It only took 15 minutes to realize that the calf straps needed to be replaced after 5 months. They're difficult to tighten, and once you do, they're very uncomfortable, and they loosen up with the first step you take. I spent $30 on some "Padded Comfort Stilt Straps," and they made all the difference. The straps were extremely comfortable and stayed in place throughout the day without slipping. So, why are there only three stars? The calf straps are a nice touch. The ones that come with the stilts are a complete disaster. I would have given this one star and returned it if the straps had not been replaced. These stilts are made to work because of the replacement straps. And I'm not alone in my belief. Why, then, are these stilts still being sold with the same shoddy calf straps? Customers have been expressing their dissatisfaction with the straps in reviews dating back to 2012! FIX THE PRODUCT, PLEASE! br>br> THE CALF STRAPS MUST BE REPLACED!.
The straps are extremely hazardous. Walking. walking. walking. then BAM! Because the calf strap went from being very snug to being very loose (no in between), I ended up on the ground. The stilts are great, but you'll need to upgrade your straps if you want to walk around with the luxury of being able to reach the ceiling. br>br>Update when new straps arrive. The new straps were a huge improvement. To make walking easier, I switched to tennis shoes, and wearing shorts makes the experience even better because the straps are in direct contact with my legs. Now that I think I've got the adjustments dialed in, I'm finding that I'm wearing these a lot more than I should be. I spent significantly more time mudding my ceiling than I normally would, and the results are far superior. I've worn these in my shop while installing a new gas line across the upper wall, and I'm even considering finishing the drywall in the shop now that stilts make it so easy. My son even joined in the fun and wore them out.
if you're willing to put forth some effort. They were simple to put together. However, putting them on as instructed resulted in a shaky feeling. I was about to return them when I realized that I had made a mistake. The issue was that I'm probably a little too bow-legged. legged, and the uprights didn't have enough adjustability - I couldn't get the treads to line up properly beneath my feet. Then - fresh ideas! I simply switched them from left to right so that the uprights were on the inside of my legs rather than on the outside, and they worked perfectly!.
For the money, this is a fantastic product. Stilts in general, not just this model, are a source of dissatisfaction. Why don't they add about an inch of material to each foot's outside? It would make balancing a lot less difficult. I feel like I'm constantly fighting my stilts leaning outward, which could be avoided with a little more material, in my opinion. Until then, these will do: they're sturdy, stylish, and comfortable enough. It's just a matter of getting used to being around them.
I'm so glad I went ahead and purchased them. It took me about 30 minutes to get used to walking in them, and I feel like I could run a marathon in them after just one day of wearing them. br>I didn't feel tired after a full day on the stilts. You only need to spend some time adjusting them before using them, and you'll be fine. br>Now I want to use these stilts for every job I can. What would I do if they weren't there? I use them for sheetrock, popcorn removal, painting the upper walls/ceilings without having to use a ladder, and a variety of other small jobs that would otherwise necessitate the use of a ladder. One of the most useful tools I've ever purchased, and the blue color really stands out. The price is also unbeatable!.
The straps for the feet are excellent, but the straps for the legs do not hold the stilt to your leg; they tighten, but do not stay tight, posing a safety hazard. I hope the supplier reads this and is willing to send new or upgraded straps! The leg straps are the reason I'm giving it a one-star rating.
The straps that go around your legs are the only thing that bothers me. One of them was constantly loosening, which could be dangerous. After nearly collapsing, I repurposed an old leather belt by drilling new holes in it and wearing it instead. I may purchase padded straps in the future, but for now, these will suffice.
My girlfriend (who suggested the purchase) began warning me about how dangerous they were soon after they arrived. I've had no problems with them so far, and I've had enough time on them to feel at ease in the air. I admit that I was slow at first, but as I worked on my house's ceiling, they became almost imperceptible to me. They aren't the easiest to put on or take off, but then again, this is the only pair I've ever worn, so I don't have much to compare them to. It's simply not comfortable for me to put them on while standing, as I've seen others do in videos. I prefer a high vantage point from which they can rest on the ground, which is difficult to achieve in a remodeled home. This was the best price on drywall stilts I could find, and the time savings have been well worth the investment.
