I recommend you spend a few extra dollars and get the Guard Dog brand as the cheaper ones are twice as tall as the Guard Dogs. Our intention is to run an extension cable from our front driveway to the island with the Christmas lights decorations by using five of these guys. When they first used the oil base cleaner they used it made it very slippery and car drivers were driving all over it, causing it to move and slide all around - but after 3 weeks of driving over it by neighbors it started to stay put and not come apart. As for the experience with the oil base cleaners or something they use for coating the protector, I attributed that to the fact once that was gone, it worked perfectly. There was no problem with the cord coming out of the channel or coming up into it, the channel covered it perfectly The quality of this material seems to be durable enough for commercial use.
