Questions & Answers

According to the description, the chair can hold 400 pounds of weight, but the Vestil website itself claims that it can hold What's the reason?

It is not clear to me why there is a discrepancy in the listing, but I am well over 220 pounds and the chair is stable and comfortable for my outreach and observing trips. There are a lot of ups and downs in both situations The work I do today involves a lot of up-and-down, with periods of sitting. When the rubber shocks were in their default position, I felt it rocking around a bit too much, but I changed them to wider spacing and I feel just the right amount of flex in the seat. As far as I can tell, there are no signs of stress on the chair's structure. The fact that Vestil is not the manufacturer, but they are OEMing the chair, they would probably want to hedge the capacity they state so as not to breach liability and warranty issues. I'll look in the paperwork, but they claimed a weight capacity of 400 lbs on the original invitation.

A kneeling chair's seat can be tilted forward, but can the seat itself be adjusted to tilt forward?

It is best to weld them together).

Are the adjustable parts of the seat locking once the seat is set at a ?

In order to adjust the seat's height, you adjust fixed height points. they have been installed, it has very little movement and is very stable. A seat's mounting points are represented by the horizontal bars on the picture of the seat. The software is very easy to use and set up.

Are the backrests easy to remove and pack/unpack in a car so that the seat can be easily packed/unpacked?

Yes, it is. This seat is easily removable and attachable (flush to the back) so that it can be easily stored in the trunk of a car (or in the

Stargazing on this chair is a great experience
5/5

This chair has become an integral part of my observing setup after a few months of weekly use. The seat remains stable at the top rungs even when the ring is at the end. It is easy to adjust the height and set up. I wish I had bought one a long time ago. The advantages of sitting at a telescope are well known-better viewing, less fatigue, etc. I wish I had bought one a long time.

Solidly constructed and beautifully crafted
4/5

It is made of heavy steel and folds easily. It would be nice if the chair had a better type of foot for support. It would be great for astronomers. A telescope attached to a seat will allow direct viewing, which means the seat has to rise and fall. There is nothing cheap about this chair. It's well made and portable. There is enough room for up to 220 pounds, and the seat is soft and easy to adjust.

Where I have a concern is the footplate is very small and rests a great deal of weight on it. It would be nice if this chair could be used in an area with a soft surface. It would be nice if the feet could be completely flat and allowed for more direct exposure to It is easy to fold and store the chair, and it has a good weight and heft indicating that it is made of steel of heavy gauge. The height adjustment makes it perfect for someone who needs to go from a low to a high seating position.

telescope is a device that takes pictures, This is a user's delight
5/5

I recently upgraded to a 12" (mirror diameter) Dobsonian telescope, and the drummer's throne I had was plenty tall for my 8" Dob, but it could not come close to being tall enough to give comfortable views with Thus, as a result of using the bigger dob, I would have to stand at the eyepiece every time and my observing sessions would be cut short by aching feet and sore backs. The Vestil CPRO-32 observing chair was a certain must-have item on my wish list! Two weeks ago, I began researching my options, and the top 3 options (in no particular order) that I liked were the Starbound and the Vestil CPRO-32. I am Chair of the Denver Observing Committee, and I am on Committee 600. Because of the weight, I thought the Denver was my least favorite option among the three. Although the solid wood construction of the telescope would certainly hold up to my hefty frame (over 250 lb), I didn't want to have to maneuver such a heavy block of wood around my telescope Therefore, the Starbound and Vestil are the only two remaining. It has a number of features that appeal to me, including a thickly padded seat (even though I'm well cushioned on my backside, I don't like hard seats) and infinitely adjustable height and positioning. In contrast, the Vestil had a tiny footrest at the bottom (to help elevate your body to sit in the higher positions) as well as a notch on its seat back. There are two notches adjacent to each other, and you can only adjust the seat so it sits on one of them. Despite the fact that you need to fumble around in the dark to move your seat up and down, there is no danger of it slipping off the table, as the Starbound does. The Vestil chair was more affordable than the other, but in the end, I ordered it from Amazon since it had the best reviews. Please visit www. com. While according to Amazon advertising the chair is only rated at 220#, this scared me, but after hearing other people's experiences with it, as well as reading reviews of the chair being rated at 400# elsewhere, I decided to give it a go. Even if it didn't work, I was confident I could return it to Amazon. We ordered the chair a few days after it was shipped, and it's a gorgeous black color. Sadly, a white version wasn't available, so I will have to put some white tape or something on it before using it on such a dark site so that I don't trip over it. Storage/transport of the chair is made simple with the folding armrests and easy removal of the seat (just raise the seat off the horizontal notch and lift it off). As mentioned, the chair has four legs, so it may not work well on uneven ground (I haven't tried that aspect yet), but the feet are bent sideways to give the feet more surface area to grip on to, making it less likely to sink into soft dirt. A wide array of objects were observed with my 12" telescope, ranging from the zenith to almost at In any case, it took me only a few seconds to adjust the seat, regardless of where I pointed the telescope. Although the Starbound seat was thinner, I found it comfortable enough to sit on, and even swung a bit from side to side for this reason, I was not damaged by accidentally bumping the scope on the seat. My ears were perked up throughout the night as I kept listening for the squeals of protest from the seat or chair frame, signaling that it was straining under the weight of my bulky suitcase. Nevertheless, it never came to fruition. As I sat in the chair all evening, I wasn't bothered with any pain. Fortunately for me, the seat is made of a textured material (probably manmade, but I have no idea) that seems to have held the dew at bay, at least for the few moments I was getting another eyepiece from my case out on my lap. I noticed that, even though my telescope soon became dripping wet, my chair was still I am sure it can take ten minutes for it to go bad if I don't watch it That would change in about 15 minutes, but hey, if a chair is present, then I decide to sit in At the time I ordered the chair, I wondered if my mistake had been not ordering a chair that could be adjusted infinitely. This stuff turns out to not be as important as it seems. While watching a couple dozen objects during the course of the evening, I only adjusted the chair three times because I viewed them all at different altitudes The number of times is four. It's easy for me to be leaning over too much, so I lower the incline. I would raise my head a few notches if I were stretching my neck. Even though I have only used it once so far, I am pleased with my purchase.

Even though I only assembled it once, I was able to tuck my back and neck between the gaps of the chair without discomfort. might think the price of $160 for a chair is an excessive expense (and you would be right), but the comfortable view at the scope is worth every penny. While you're focused on how bad your feet and back hurt, it's very difficult to concentrate on the dim patch of light as you look through The chair provides the convenience of simply sitting down, making yourself comfortable, and enjoying the view for as long as you like.

The quality of the product is excellent
4/5

Wouldn't it be better if there were five There is a lot of weight to it. Nevertheless, this likely contributes to the stability of the system. A friend of mine (who weighs 350 pounds) tried it out, and with the seat 1/3 down from the top, it didn't tip easily. You'd think that by looking at it, it would have a high center of gravity and tip over easily, but it's not vulnerable to that sort of thing It's not like that at all. No matter what surface it is on (ground, asphalt, cement, etc. ), it works. The program has been useful to me in This seat folds flat and can be detached from the frame. A seat can easily be attached to or raised to a new 'rung' by adjusting its height. There are no ridges on the seat. As you lean forward, the camera will tilt slightly. The amount of cushioning needed to keep the seat edge from cutting into your legs isn't enough to give you stability or to cause you to slip off, but just enough to protect you from slipping off. The design is very well thought out.

This is a great tool for telescopic viewing
5/5

This is the best telescope mount I've ever used. Quick and simple adjustments are available for the seat This seat is easy to use and can't slide down into a lower position while in use because the design prevents it from doing so. I have several herniated disks in my lower back, so I can benefit from that. Since I had been using a chair which had a similar design but was unable to lock the seat in place, I thought I should mention this. I was constantly afraid that I was going to further injure my back because the unit kept sliding down. Due to this chair, I am no longer distracted by the rest and can focus on astronomy instead.

For new astronomy viewers, this is a simple but practical guide to getting started
5/5

Having just received mine, I wanted to take it out as soon as possible (on a cold night) and see what it could do. Although my initial excitement trumped the somewhat uncomfortable positions I assumed (such as when I pointed the telescope toward the zenith), once I got comfortable I was excited. But on the next day, my back turned out to not be too fond of this behavior I was able to completely ignore the fact that when I viewed Jupiter for the first time (as well as following and tracking it), I was sitting in an uncomfortable position. All problems related to awkward positioning are solved by this chair It's possible to sit comfortably (at almost any height and for any length of time desired) and concentrate on the program. I didn't wake up with a sore back the next day. I do not feel any For me to maintain my interest in this subject, this is an essential reading.

Highly.

I like that chair a lot! Observation at a is what I use it for
5/5

I like that chair a lot! The equatorial tripod mount on my Newtonian allows me to observe from it while on a telescope since it sits high off the ground. It can be raised to about 34 inches in height, as described in the description. Assembly is not necessary (although you have to mount the seat on the rack obviously). The device is a little heavy, but I suppose that's for stability. Other reviewers have noted that the phone is heavy. This does not look like it was made cheaply. There are also 6 or 7 shock springs under the seat that appear to be springs. A piece of furniture can lean in different directions depending on how much weight is carried by the person sitting on the seat. By doing this, you can comfortably lean forward.
