This is an extremely well-made product! I bought this item on April 8th, which was about a week ahead of the estimated delivery date and it's extremely well made! I agree with the previous comment that it is costly compared with other 2 steps, but it is far better in quality and durability, and it is the exact height of actual stair steps that we need! The steps are the same as described in the step description. The joints are made entirely from dowels, so there are no nails or screws to expose. A good amount of sanding had been done. After staining the wood and applying tung oil, I painted it light maple. Adding traction was achieved by using a vinyl stair tread. This step is a great way to get out of bed. The only problem with the shipment was the little rubber feet got tossed around, so they broke off from their backing during shipment. It didn't seem to matter, since the step was placed on carpet and the rubber feet were not necessary. There is no doubt this is a great.
