There are wide, comfortable steps that are even fine to walk barefoot on. During the holidays, the tray at the top of the handle holds tools, bulbs, and parts (or whatever else you want). A less than optimal situation I think it is more of an industrial design than an art piece. In comparison to a standard step stool for the home or even a step ladder, it's quite heavy. It is wide, so if you need to use it in a cramped space such as a closet or when used along a narrow hallway, you may find it difficult to work around. Think about, for example, that after opening the Safety Step the extension handle must be raised to allow the extension to be released. The back of the table appears to raise it from the front. The ladder folds easily, but the top bar cannot be released in order to do so. Therefore, I have deducted one star from my review of this product. I am not strong enough to pull this off with my hands. As a result, I have to wait for a male relative to visit before I can put the ladder away after I have used it.

In the morning of Tuesday, I ordered the Little Giant Safety Step. On Thursday morning, I saw it land on my porch before 7 a. m. With Prime shipping, you can receive your package at 30 am. Since my Christmas decorations were on the top two shelves of a closet with a high ceiling, I couldn't get them down. My heart just beats faster when I see this ladder. It supports my butt well even though I weigh 350 pounds. I did not find it to be flimsy. My truck makes six to seven deliveries a day and I have to transfer into and out of my trailer, which is 5 feet off the ground. A ladder is a great investment, it's the best money you'll ever spend.
