As a rule of thumb, ladders are 13 inches wide, but you need extra floor space between the studs to mount the box. In order to avoid damaging the electrical outlet under the window, we mounted our ladder to a box that is attached to the studs.
There is a painting meant for it
My understanding is it is supposed to fit between wall studs. I don't know the advice but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work. I originally bought the three story for a two story, so it would have extra length to go over the porch. I do not recommend installing these above a covered porch, but I just bought it as a three story for a two story. it would be better to place above the window.
Its nylon straps are made of seatbelt material, and its ladder has a sturdy construction

A 3-bedroom house we purchased was available for sale There are two ladders in our house the one story ladder and the two-storied ladder. As we were looking for something that could be a permanent fixture and not have to concern ourselves with using a removable ladder in an emergency, this is a sturdy and well constructed product. A great piece of mind comes with knowing the belt is securely attached and that it requires the user to toss out the window and remove the retaining strap to remove it. I would like to mention that when buying this product, please be careful who you buy it Initially, I bought this product from Seven2Four but it was subsequently shipped directly from another retailer (AcmeTools). In the process of clearing the drop-down menu, I need your help Violating the rules of the sea. Acme Tools may be found as the seller here, or you may take a look at them directly. They have the cheapest price and offer very reasonable shipping. Drops that are inflated should be avoided You can find different Amazon ship prices at different retailers.
I found the installation process to be very simple. The units recess into the wall and screw into place between two standard studs. The drywall must be removed, the insulation removed and the screws installed. A cover covers it when it's not in use, so you can't even tell it's there when not in use. Since my 4-year-old can now climb down this from the second floor all by herself, I can sleep through the night much better now. I think it's well worth the money.
Another category of product was designed to be used only once. My mind was not at ease with that. It did what it was supposed to do. It has been tested by myself and my son and is ready to use in a pinch. This project turned into a weekend project because I had to remove the studs, but I am very pleased with the final installation and what it provides me with peace of mind With fire escapes comes the mind of a fire fighter. The product is great!.
Perfect! Thank you so much for saving me so much money! It is a simple process to install. The pack can easily be deployed and repacked. The three of these are located in a 3 bedroom apartment on the third floor. I sleep well at night knowing that every bedroom has one, and that they can be deployed by a child as young as 4 if necessary. In case of a fire, if you want to give your residents a fighting chance, then this is the safest escape method. There is no reason to accept the first generation of escape ladders as The risk of getting anything done during the panic and confusion of a smoke filled bedroom at 3am will be very high if there is not regular training in taking the ladder out of its box, unfolding and securing the window stays and winding the chain ladder. It is possible that the boxed ladder might accidentally get moved to another location than what was It can be found in the same position (below the window), it has been preset so that it will always be there They are part of the structure of your home. Dropping it out of the window is all it takes for it to work. rungs of the ladder are made of metal and are reinforced with seat belt material. It was easy for my wife to use the ladder after just a couple of verbal instructions.
This kit comes with good instructions and a template that you can Rather than a hook and ladder setup, I decided to select this product. Wasn't sure if my 8 year old would be able to get the ladder and hook set up from under her bed, hook it, open the window, and climb down (especially if the lights or electricity aren't on). By using this product, I was able to cut out a couple steps that were crucial during our fire drill and my 8 year old daughter was able to get out of the house just fine. Despite the fact that it is more expensive than the hook and ladder style, I recommend this product to households with young children.
The unit will provide an escape route down the attic into my garage if this unit is installed in the floor. This is a solid piece of hardware, and the instructions (for installation on a wall below a window) are very clear, so it was easy to construct a framing frame for the unit using 2x4s in the floor between the joists. We have all climbed down the ladder (all family members) over the years, and yes, it will work if we ever need it again. Now that I get to sleep in at night, I feel better.
Quite a bit of work is involved in installing it. Basically, there was just a small amount of variation in the amount of space between the studs so I had to chisel a little more space. Apart from that, it was a fairly straightforward job. An installation that is forward-looking. When the lid is closed, the lid blends in seamlessly with the wall. Being able to access it from where I installed it is convenient to me. The only thing I would recommend is that they cover the stand-off legs in plastic so you don't have to worry about the metal scratching any surface. Over the coming weekend, I am going to do it myself by purchasing some liquid plastic.
