Questions & Answers
It's fine for practice and testing, but it's only intended for ONE TIME use, which means you shouldn't use it again if you've already used it for a fire emergency escape. Because the fire will bend the metal escape ladder, and the fire may touch and burn off the polyester belt, if we don't notice this and believe the product is in good condition, if there is another fire, using this already damaged product could result in injury or even death. I hope this has been of assistance. Thank you very much.
I have the same question and need an answer before I can determine whether I can order this item. Last week, I ordered a ladder, only to discover after receiving it that it requires a window sill width of 8" or less, whereas the other questioner's is 18".
In the product description, it says it all: This item is only meant to be used ONCE. And because it is made of metal, if it is used in a fire, the heat generated by the fire may weaken it to the point where it cannot be used again, resulting in injury or death.
Hello, the item is only meant to be used ONCE and should only be used in the event of a home emergency. br>Please replace the ladder every three years, even if it is not in use, to ensure the best possible performance. br>Thank you for your time and consideration; I hope this is helpful.

The item is extremely hazardous. I'm a fit guy who practices martial arts and works in the construction industry, so I'm used to dealing with a wide range of situations. There were razor-sharp edges to this. It has sharp edges and is difficult to handle - It is not at all safe for people to handle. Taking this out of the box resulted in a serious cut on my hand. It didn't require stitches, but it was on the verge of requiring them. It boggles my mind how this got through quality control.
br>However, as another reviewer pointed out, the aluminum spacers that run up against the house have very sharp edging, so I had to go over them with a wire brush one by one to remove anything that could cut into the skin. br>Also, as you climb this ladder, it moves a lot, but that's to be expected with any rope ladder. br>Overall, I'm glad I bought this emergency ladder, but it would be a little safer to use if it was a couple of inches wider and less bouncy.
When I tried to secure the ladder to my window, it self-deployed (the steps dislodged from the strap). This isn't ideal because it's only supposed to be used once (during an actual emergency). Furthermore, I live in an old building with thick walls, and the ladder could not be adjusted wide enough to attach to the window. So, in any case, this ladder is useless to me.
Thankfully, I haven't had to use it yet, but I did pull it out and find it to be very simple to understand and use in an emergency. To get out quickly, we have this on the second story in our child's room. It gives me a lot more confidence in the event of a disaster!.
We haven't had to use it yet because there hasn't been an emergency, but it was simple to set up. However, getting back into the bag was a bit of a challenge. It's easy to store because it's small.
Thankfully, I haven't had to use it yet. However, the quality is good, and it appears to be well-made and simple to operate. I purchased it as a gift for my daughter and was relieved to discover that it arrived in perfect condition.
This fire escape ladder comes in a very nice package. It's packaged in a cardboard box with a flimsy zip case. Although it isn't a particularly attractive case, it will look better than most when not in use. This item, however, will have to be returned because it is too heavy for my children to lift and secure in their window. This appears to be a high-end item.
