This was used to wrap around the outside of my 33-foot travel trailer. I duct taped as I went, unrolling as needed. This winter in New England, a simple cut at the corners has proven to be extremely effective. I weighted it down with long 4"x4"'s and a cheap space heater. Since doing this, I have had no problems. It's a fantastic application, and it'll set you back less than $200 in total!.
It came in two 50-foot rolls. I needed a continuous piece about 60' long for my application, which is why I ordered a 100' roll (I already had 50' rolls). I ended up having to use tape to splice, which was something I had hoped to avoid.
br>Condensation would collect under our carport. br>Sometimes, it rained more under the carport than it did outside. br>I installed this beneath the carport roof, right against the metal. br>After six months, I can confidently state that it is in perfect working order. br>It's holding up well in 90-degree sun, 18-degree cold, and windy days. br>To seal off the edges, I used "Gorilla Crystal Clear heavy duty tape. ".
This is a high-quality product that I'm using in a metal carport that has been converted into an off-grid living space. cabin with a grid You can definitely tell the difference with increased warmth and heat retention since this has been installed, the wood burning stove is using less wood and the building stays warmer for a longer time. It's an easy product to use and holds up to all types of abuse, I'm using white duct tape to adhere and seal the seams of the duct tape. My biggest gripe is that I ordered a 100' roll but received only 80'; I didn't measure the roll when it arrived and didn't realize the error until I was almost finished. When it first arrives, I recommend double-checking the length.
I purchased it twice, the first time from a different vendor and the second time from Amazon. Both were appealing to me, but the Amazon purchase was clearly of higher quality. It did exactly what I needed it to do, and it keeps the heat generated by the wood stove in the metal building. It was the best thing I ever did for working out in the shed in the winter because there was no drip from the metal ceiling sweating and it was a warmer environment to work in.
This was purchased to go under the metal roof of a two-car detached garage that was very old. br>In the summer, the heat in my old metal roof garage is unbearable. Fans simply blast you with extremely hot air. br>The garage measures approximately 600 square feet. br>At the end of this spring, I stapled this double bubble reflective " insulation" between the roof trusses, after which I installed three whirly type roof vents. What a difference. br>WOW, what a difference. br>An inside/outside thermometer indicates that it is about 2-degrees warmer inside than it is outside. Until about lunchtime, it was 4 degrees cooler inside than it was outside. It's the same temperature inside as it is outside during the day, which is much better than the 20 degrees hotter inside it used to be. br>While the vents are helpful, the double bubble reflective barrier is the real game changer. br>br>Excellent information. br>br>.
I bought this to use as a lightweight skirting for my rv because it said it was good for skirting in the description, but it really only works well if you staple it to plywood or some kind of framing because the wind will blow it apart no matter how well you tape it. It worked for a few weeks until the wind tore it apart during a snowstorm, but it was otherwise functional.
Air and moisture leaks are stopped with this product. It's ideal for seasonal structures where all that's required is to keep radiant heat in or out. For shops and garages, the white side can be used as a finished wall covering.
