There may be something I need that's the same as yours. So, I ordered a 9' vinyl wrap to wrap my stair posts, but it only comes with one top and bottom. I need four tops and bottoms to get two cuts from
In fact, they have matching colored screws and are made up of two pieces. Each of the two tops and two bottoms is worth two points. are very nice looking and give each column a million dollar appearance.
You may want to cut it if you're referring to that. My cut-off point was marked on the post, and I used a 4"grinder with a cut off wheel to cut it off.
In short, yes. That should be the case. The post I used was made of two 2x4s and the length was three feet. It measures 5 inches by 5 inches. There was no problem with the fit.

The aluminum columns are well made, well sized, and accurately measured. It is actually a bit narrow when installed, though the capital and base fit appropriately. Despite the defect in the picture, the description and pictures of the product were As a con, delivery took one month, I was only able to receive three of the four capital/base combinations for the four columns, and neither the seller nor the delivery company provided me with a phone number.
Everything they say about it is true. A second purchase would be appreciated.
